    Who would have predicted way back in August that it was actually likely, not just possible, that we would escape the bear and make the playoffs? ;)

    OK... I'll admit my predictions were too pessimistic. :p

    Would you believe the logical prediction now is that we'll host and win a knockout round game, earning us a shot in the conference semis against Atlanta copy-cat united? :cool:

    Once we get that far, faith will need to replace logic: All hail the LuchaRoo who will take us to the promised land and bring home a trophy! :laugh:

    Decision day predictions:
    • DC United draw at Chicago
    • Philadelphia loss at NYCFC
    • Columbus win at home vs Minnesota
    • Montreal loss at New England
    Resulting Regular Season Final Standings
    1. Atlanta
    2. NYRB
    3. NYCFC 56 pts
    4. DC United 51 pts (14 wins, GD +10)
    5. Columbus 51 pts (14 wins, GD >= -2, but short of our +10)
    6. Philadelphia 50 pts (15 wins, GD <= 0)
    Knockout Round predictions
    • DC wins at home vs Columbus
    • NYCFC wins at home vs Philadelphia

    Conference Semis
    • Atlanta vs DC United
    • NYRB vs NYCFC

    So I don't see anyone beating us at the new stadium. Not City, not Philly, not Columbus or Montreal. And I further see us as a tough out against either Atlanta or NJ, because the first leg will be played here and I expect us to walk away from that game with an advantage we can leverage in a road leg.

    At the end of the day, as long we win our home games and NJ doesn't make the final, I am probably calling this season a success for our team, on the field. Its time to become the bear and start eating the other weaker animals.

    I consider this season a success on the field already. It's gravy time now.
