Vs .....Kuwait.....Vs.....Uzbekistan Day: Friday, 25th March 2005 Kick-off: 19:45GMT Venue: Peace and Friendship Stadium, Kuwait City Occasion: World Cup Qualifiers Previous meeting: Kuwait and Uzbekistan met only once in the Asian games in 1998 (Thailand), the match finished in a draw 3-3.
These sides have only met once before, in the Asian Games in 1998 when they played out a 3-3 draw. But their stunning performances in the second phase – Kuwait eliminated China PR and Uzbekistan finished ahead of Iraq - will not have escaped each other's attention. The Uzbekistan coach, Hans Jurgen Gede, can call on the forward power of Maksim Shatskikh of Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev and Ilyas Zeytullayev of Italy's Reggina. To bolster his defensive line, meanwhile, he has called up the naturalised Vladimir Radkevich to play alongside the experienced Nikolay Shirshov. Kuwait coach Slobodan Pavkovic has no big-name players but he can take confidence from his side's impressive home form. They scored eleven times in three qualifying victories last year, which proved vital to them edging past group favourites China on goal difference. They will have drawn further confidence from a recent 3-1 friendly victory over Armenia, when Ali Abdulreda, Badr Al Mutawa and Ahmed Al Subaih were all on target. Source: FIFA website

I hate to be a Kuwaiti fan right now, kuwaitistan will be the first to feel Uzbek football's true power come friday. I say anything less than a 3-0 win for us, would be an underperformance
well, and if we didn't win this one 3-0, then we are not WC material! good luck mate... train well until Friday's thrasher
don't worry we have done enough practice playing against our u-12 team so we will be ready more than ready for a team that is on your level
Hopefully Uzbekistan will win so Kuwait will play in a bad performance for our next game with them.. hahaha! Good luck to both teams.
my predictions at the end of matchday 3 Kuwait played 3 won 2 drew 0 lost 1 GF 5 GA 3 GD +2 pts 6 S. Korea played 3 won 2 drew 0 lost 1 GF 4 GA 2 GD +2 pts 6 Saudi Arabia played 3 won 1 drew 1 lost 1 GF 3 GA 3 GD 0 pts 4 Uzbekistan played 3 won 0 drew 1 lost 2 GF 1 GA 6 GD -5 pts 1 that will be just sweeeeeeeeeet
Mango your new at this arent you. KSA embarassed ur team in their home ground so you shouldnt talk till the end of the match. I'm not saying Kuwait will win, Im just sure its gonna be hard for both teams. ALLAH ifawizkom ya Azraqna. Ameen.
Good luck to Uzbekistan. They need all they can take from this match to be in a better position to challenge the Koreans and Saudis.
the Uzbeks are getting minus five in goal difference... and no points at the end of matchday three... thank you very much... and some people will commit suicide I guess
I expect a nice draw that will suprise the Kuwaitis, Uzbeks arent weak, they did draw with Saudi Arabia at their home. And thats considered pretty good.
My friend, you guys were about to lose at home, so how can your draw with us at home? If we were playing at this time, maybe, but youll be facing a 45 degree temperature, can your team handle that?
Iran lost to Jordan in Tehran, but won the away game... nothing is impossible... it's soccer we're talking about!
