Why did he play it back to Boruc there? Did he not see what happened to Taylor in the first half, the pitch is awful. It's basics as well if you go back to keeper, either side of the goal please.
KONIEC is exactly right. I usually try to be upbeat, but its difficult when the team just "shits the bed" like this. This ends the WC qualifying campaign, never mind the math. We dont have a shot if we can just beat San Marino. Yeah we beat the Czechs but it was on that magical date in the fall. To put it simply this team, with a performance like we saw today, doesn't deserve to be in the WC.
Just posting this, so that I get a dose of reality, in case I start thinking that we still have an outside chance at qualifying at some point. CG version. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPPy1gJyxAU&feature=related"]YouTube - POLSKA - IRLANDIA P?N. 1:3 Boruc Kiks 28.03.2009r[/ame]

Hurts indeed. All that's left is to start building a team for NIKE 2012 (had to add this cause greed, resulted us in ending up with those brutal new jerseys). On we go vs. San Marino. Well back to drowning in beer.
Huge disappointment and to be quite honest a bit of a heart break. Qualifying hasn't gone perfectly but I really expected us to make it through. Penn State missing the tournament, Pitt getting knocked out tonight, Poland losing today, and the US being down against El Salvador, today has been awful. I don't know what to do now but pray for miracles and hope Euro 2012 goes well.
Not a total loss, you guys got to Super Bowl this year. As to the team, well there are two ways to respond to this, we can fold and go home, or at least show that we can play football in the remaining 5 games, even though it will be for pride and not for qualification.
Awful game but I still believe we can get 2nd place if we play better on Autumn. I made some simulation and it seems to me that if we beat Slovakia and N.Ireland at home, draw in Slovenia and lose in Czech Republic we still can be second - it depends on other results exactly. It will be hard but we should not feel qualifications are already lost. I remember Euro 2004 quals - I felt we are out after home defeat to Latvia, home draw to Hungary and double defeats with Sweden but we still could get to playoffs, wouldn't Sweden lose to Latvia in last game. So maybe we will still have some good moments on Autumn. Other thing is that I can't see play-off opponent we could beat having team like that but... surprises happen
True but the Steelers have a decent chance to win a championship almost every year. Sure the Euros are great but the World Cup doesn't come around enough for Poland to be missing when they're hosting Euro 2012. I suppose mathematically they aren't done but when you start relying on other teams to get a result then you're doing something wrong.
I find that most of the time, once the debate turns to "mathematically we are still in it", that team is usually out of it. However, not to be completely cynical, I hope they go out and play their hearts out for their pride and for the fans supporting them through thick and thin, and who knows maybe just maybe, we'll add enough 3's to mathematically squeeze into the playoffs.
