Interesting back 4, if we concede anything we're in trouble. Haven't kept a clean sheet in a while.

I'll be surprised if Podolski doesn't make the starting lineup, but if he doesnt it means Low has finally had enough.

That front 4 can rip teams to shreds... I hope we stick with it!

Lahm on the right and Schmelzer on the left, no Kroos (injured) and with Khedira in midfield and Müller, Reus and Klose upfront are confirmed. Let's see who will be playmaker and center back.

    --------------Neuer-----------
    Lahm--Boa--Bads--Schmelzer
    ------Gundogan-Khedira-------
    --------------Özil-----------
    -----Müller----Klose------Reus

As much as I don't like it, I bet we are going to see Poldi and Merte in the starting 11.

Where should Poldi play? Reus instead of Özil in the center? Could be but very doubtful and that would be the only formation that includes Poldi along the confirmed starters.

Podolski will play he will score a hattrick he always plays well against these weak teams and than Low will stick with him and he will suck again in the big matches like always

Are you even reading what I did write or do you just want to hate Löw anyway? *sigh*

Hansi Flick confirmed in the press conference today that the offensive row will be Müller - Özil - Reus, Klose forward and that Lahm, Khedira and Schmelzer will play. Only the partner of Khedira in central midfield and the defender pair is still open. (Kroos is injured and will not play)

So where do you want Poldi to play? Central defense or in defense midfield?

He did not extra tell that Neuer will be goalkeeper, but I do not think he really has to. Might be funny to see Poldi in goal...

At least Mertesacker wont get burnt like Hummels and Boateng did. I still have no idea how some say Hummels was one of the best CDs when he was responsible for 2 of the goals we conceded during the tournament (maybe not fully responsible for the 1st goal against Italy but he played a huge part in it)

Its funny that Loew said he wanna try Reus up top but he never actually do it. Not even against Fraore Island?? So when will the experiment apply?

So Klose better stay fit till 2020.

    Loew said,.
    Cacau??? Maybe Loew needa go

Letting Reus get comfortable starting with the guys from a wing position, like he did at Gladbach, and getting to watch and learn how Miro does it is the best way to get Reus up top to be a legitimate option by Brazil. Loew isn't perfect by any stretch, but some of you guys are way to eager to point out a mistake, before even thinking about whether it's actually a mistake of not.

Hope Hummels Badstuber continues. They need more time playing together to grow into the partnership they are capable of.

Agree with this, however I am thinking that Loew is seriously considering playing Mertesacker. Why else would the CD pairing be undecided a day before the match?

In central midfield I suspect we will see Bender, but that is a very defensive pairing. I think we will see a 4-1-4-1 like this:

    ------------------------Neuer-------------------------
    Lahm------Hummels----Badstuber------Schmelzer
    -----------------------Khedira---------------------------
    Mueller---------Oezil-----Guendogan--------Reus
    -----------------------Klose----------------------------

    Possibly Goetze instead of Guendogan.

Löw has to avoid making the same mistakes he did leading up to the EUROs and stick with a CB pairing consistently otherwise we'll see the same problems over and over again.

Loew seems to think that failing at the semi-final stage is good enough, so I don't think he really believes that he did anything wrong in the preparation for the Euros.

Agree about the CD partnership. Hope Löw doesn't continue repeating his own mistakes.

A Bender - Khedira pairing wouldn't be too defensive. Bender was brilliant as a box to box player and Khedira is the best in the world next to Yaya in this role.

I would prefer a Gündogan - Khedira pairing because of the technicality but wouldn't be too disappointed with either.

As long as Reus continues to start because he needs more integration but I would still prefer to see Müller, Özil, Reus, and Götze or Schürrle on at the same time.

Reus is simply too good to not start every match.

I think deep down he knows he screwed up. I'd like to think he's self reflective enough to figure that out and take the appropriate measures to correct that but time will tell.

Gundogan or bender wouldn't be bad in the center.

Schmelzer really needs to keep stepping up and continue with the NT progress..

I wouldn't mind reus taking time to learn from Klose for the next year.

I hope schurrle and gotze get subbed in later..

    Can anyone imagine this front 4;

    Muller Ozil Schurrle

    Reus

Gotze as super sub.... We would tear teams to shreds..

Especially with a 100% piggy and a beasting Khedira..

Schmelzer finally doing well on the NT and Lahm making runs aswell..

There should be no reason we shouldn't aim for the finals with this team, no more horsing around

Even if he doesn't know, there is always the media there to remind him. He must have answered a hundred questions about the Italy match in the past 3 months.

He took responsibility for his decisions, its all about how he reacts and internalizes those decisions and whether he is capable of rectifying what did go wrong. I'd like to think he learned from his mistakes.

Hopefully Jogi's analysis and contemplation will lead to the re-installment of Mertesacker instead of Hummels to get rid of the major source of error, the re-introduction of Westermann and Rolfes to bring in some much needed experience and a return to the 4-4-2 diamond formation, mainly to be able to find a spot for Podolski (a job-creation measure of sorts), even with Reus on the pitch.

I'd line it up as such -

    -----------------------Neuer
    Lahm--------Hummels-Badstuber---------Schmelzer
    ---------------Khedira--------L. Bender
    Muller-------------------Ozil-----------------------Reus
    --------------------------Klose

It may be sooner rather than later that we see Gotze starting in the playmaker role. Ozil will be getting less playing time at Madrid and Gotze is a much more well rounded, industrious player who is creative enough.
