One week away from our debut. The team has left us with more doubts than confidence, but we always seem to step up in these types of tournaments

All we can do is hope for the best

The atheist in me will make an exception and get down on his knees and pray to the football gods for backing.

    Lettuce pray.

With all the warts Osorio has, I still support the team. I hope they can go as far as they can despite my issues with the manager.

I see this being a different World Cup for Mexico.. either crash at group stage or make it past the 5th game .. hope it’s the latter

Starting off here with my personal opinion but I think we’re getting the L on this one.

I don’t necessarily think we’re going to play bad. I think it’ll be a good game, but we have too many brainfarts, little mistakes such as passing the ball to the wrong player in a dangerous area that Germany will not pardon us with. We get away with these mistakes against Concacaf teams but a superpower will capitalize on these.

I hope I’m wrong but that’s how it’s usually gone these few past years.

Mexico has to limit their turnovers. If not, a team like Germany will capitalize on them.

Need to see Vela Jimenez and tecatito on the field for this game, with a midfield of Guardado, Herrera, Jona

As much as I like RJ9, he is just not a goalscorer.
Now maybe he can make up for it with his
hold up/link up play, but strikers are there to score goals first and foremost.

The Germany game is a catch 22 no matter how you slice it or dice it. It doesn't make much of a difference if the game were to be first, second or third in the group stage. You don't expect to win but to just control the bleeding and maybe eek out a draw or perhaps if Providence smiles on you a win.

Honestly, if Mexico can muster a positive result or even a narrow loss against Germany they they could potentially grow into the group stage.

I'm perfectly fine with them losing next Sunday but as long as they leave everything on the field.

Getting them 1st is a disadvantage.(NVM their history of never losing nor drawing in the 1st game.since 1994)
They won't suffer from pre game/in game anxiety and will be fresh and more motivated to start the tournament off in dominant fashion.

As apposed to a team who has the group wrapped up and might even rotate some starters on Yellows/knocks.

I know the Nads were happy Cristiano got the German sausage first last cup.

Yanks were lucky that their final game was not a must win and had the Brooks not nailed that header against Ghana things could have been different.

We're gonna start off hot, like always. This time, however, we score early, forcing the Germans to open up a bit. We go in dry on Hector.

    3-1

Gallardo has never impressed me. He is remarkably below average. And that's putting it nicely.

He offers NOTHING but a body on the field. Might as well play a traffic cone.

Why is this dude pencil'd in the starting XI?
