Actually, Velez is not allowed to have away fans until the semifinals. They would for the final if they reach it. And Penarol also received an official warning from CONMediocre stating that any incident that occurs in the future will result with them playing in an empty stadium.
Let me see if I got this wright. Now, Conmebol is sanctioning teams for their fans behavior? Since when? About time.
This Peñarol/Vélez Sarsfield is serious. Supposedly, Julio Baldomar, a VP from Vélez, admitted that his club paid for at least some of the buses which took some of the barra fans to Uruguay last week. Additionally, Peñarol fans apparently "welcomed" Vélez's fans by stoning their buses. Here are some videos of the altercations. I am not assigning blame; I have no issue against either team. But it's been a remarkable Libertadores for a number of motives, and one of them is the violence and the application of sanctions by CONMEBOL.
dont get your hopes up http://conmebol.com/es/content/trib...u-decision-sobre-el-caso-corinthians-san-jose
More on the sorry state of Uruguayan (and South American, dont kid yourselves) football. Un secreto a voces como dice la nota. Shameful. http://www.ovaciondigital.com.uy/13...vestigacion-por-las-50-entradas-protocolares/
Well, I guess at the end of the cup this thread will have over 50 pages of fights, incidents and sanctions... from all sides. http://canchallena.lanacion.com.ar/...otagonizaron-una-batalla-campal-en-aeroparque Apparently, they were specially after Valdivia. Don't know why.
This is far more reasonable: A 200,000 dollar fine, One match behind closed doors (already done) An official warning, like Velez, in which any other incident will result with the original punishment being inflicted upon them. No visiting fans for 18 months in any CONMEBOL tournament As for San Jose: A 100,000 dollar fine An official warning, like Velez, in which any other incident due to their security (or lack of) will result in harsher sanctions i.e. playing behind closed doors And if Corinthians allow their fans to screw them over again then it truly will be justified playing behind closed doors for the entire tournament. A punishment like that because of one person, at an away match, with no previous incidents...that sounded like CONMEBOL trying to wash their hands. The same for San Jose. They need to hire people who will actually do what they are getting paid to do: provide security.
As a result of what happened, the President of Palmeiras announced that it will break all dialogues with the Mancha Alviverde unless those agressors are kicked out of the firm. http://www.lancenet.com.br/palmeiras/Nobre-Mancha-agressores-promete-regalias_0_878312263.html
What a slap in the face to Kevin Beltran's family to just have Corinthians fans allowed again into their stadium like nothing happened...
Well. IT's a brazilian team. We all know conmebol will not go though against them. If a fan is killed at a chilean stadium, all the chilean teams will be out of the libertadores cup right now.
I'm surprised no one picked up on the story... Independiente Barras disuguised themselves as Palmeiras barras and attacked the players in the areoparque. Typical argentine animals.
Brazil will be playing Bolivia in a friendly on April 5 in Santa Cruz. The money made, including that from the TV, will be given to Jesus Bermudez' family.
Well, that is British media for you. Go to BBC, DailyMail, etc. and you will notice that everyday the biggest news are from overseas (especially USA). It is just to feed the inferiority complex of feeling superior because "it doesn't happen here." One gets bored enough to read between the lines. But I almost never worry about getting robbed going to an EPL match compared to, say, Argentina. Let's be serious: there is no comparison. The same with this: Dallas player scores late winner against LA, gets hit in the head with bottle thrown by Dallas fan Animals, neanderthals and savages are everywhere...but Argentina and Uruguay are simply full of them. About the bengala incident, the CBF agreed to play a friendly against Bolivia (which we won 4-0) with the understanding that the revenues of the match will go towards the boy's family. Instead, only 4% of it went to them with the organizers taking the rest. The FBF simply used the boy's tragedy to rake up some bucks. Meanwhile, only Corinthians has helped the family financially and even the CBF gave a donation to them. Of course...no one in Bolivia is doing any uproars about it. They would rather keep a dozen innocent Brazilian fans in jail just to feel that one person, who has no affiliations to the club on an away match, is responsible for the boy's death conveniently forgetting the atrocious "security" people at the match, the club that hired them and the complete and utter disorganization of that nation. In short, just like some people here, they were merely like dogs: they were barking just for the sake of barking.
Yeah we are, and watch out cause in 2014 we're coming to Brasil to burn, pillage and rape everything we find in our way!
Man, what a week for European football. But of course, I'm sure this incident will go largely unnoticed by most. Only things in South America get blown out of proportion and stereotyped. http://www.supersport.com/football/europe/news/130415/AEK_Athens_chased_off_pitch_by_fans
Damn, another incident! http://www.scotsman.com/sport/footb.../missile-stops-play-in-swedish-game-1-2884144
Just more examples of leagues we shouldn't take anything from. I want to see a Brazilian super league-of-sorts. We have the potential to do it if we work at it. We are going to have over a dozen world class stadiums with cities whose infrastructures would rival the USA's own. But that can only come when our population starts seeing what is important or not. This tournament isn't.
Sem contato da FBF, pai de Kevin vê solidariedade reduzida de Marin As I have said: people in this thread, and in Bolivia, barking like dogs just for the sake of barking. And at the wrong tree on top of that. Sure enough...nothing is being done for his poor family by anyone here barking or, even so, from their own compatriots. The CBF just gave them another donation of over 21 thousand US dollars. Meanwhile, the FBF are rejecting giving the family anything because the family "wasn't part of the contract". All those assholes saw was an opportunity to put money in their pockets (that friendly gave revenues of almost 550 thousand dollars). Others, like people in this thread, were merely using a boy's tragedy to unleash their jealousy and envy at what Brazilian football is becoming. I am not sure who is worse... Dammit, I really can't complain much about the CBF. They aren't angels themselves but FBF makes me want to vomit. Let's not even get into the AFA or Uruguay's counterpart..
