The War on Christmas, as I've said before, is a defensive struggle to keep it from taking over the whole damned calendar.

We've lost the Black Friday beachhead, my friends, and it's only a matter of time before it's practically to Halloween.

How many divisions will the US deploy for this war? Will Trump create a coalition of the willing? When will the assault on the Starbucks Christmas (Holiday) Coffee Cup factory?

We should just move up these holidays. It's amazing how the displays are put up well in advance of upcoming holidays.
    I've seen:
Valentines day stuff goes up a couple of days after New Years
Halloween candy & stuff goes up in Sep 1
Those Easter baskets with useless plastic/electronic crap goes up on early March.

There are a few places around here where Black Friday starts around sundown on Thanksgiving.

I was just mentioning that to the SO. It's not Black Friday - It's Black Thursday or whatever the 5 pounds of sale ads in my morning papers signify.

My personal policy is to NEVER shop over the Thanksgiving holiday. Besides, it's not shopping, it's some sort of Darwinian survival exercise, LOL.

Only a matter of time? What do you mean? I saw Christmas decorations being sold BEFORE Halloween this year.

And I had several trick-or-treaters come to my house dressed as wise men, not to mention multiple Mary and Josephs, 4 separate little drummer boys, and a particularly creative, though potentially dangerous, kid dressed as King Herod.
