Throw this team a lifeline. Really bad today at Twente. van Aanholt received a well-deserved Red card for a studs up challenge from the rear. Almost out of the title chase now and no more Chelsea replacements to come.

Never realized that there was a thread here for vitesse. They still look out of depth even though with the heavy reinforcement arriving in the Summer transfer. Tim matavz and castaignos don't have that killer instinct to be lethal in front of goal. Bryan linssen is the only players who seems to be a class above the rest. Still hope Buttner might improve as he plays more.

  4. Mason Mount is a joy to watch him play. His technical qualities are above any of the current Vitesse players.
If the English coaches for once donot screw up things, the fans can have expectations for the national team. Wonder if he's going to be part of the 2018 squad.

Chelsea fan here. I hope the plan is to keep him there for next season as well just to keep him development on track.

  6. Looking at the recent hacking down of technical gifted players in the EPL I hope for him too he stays put to mature and grow.

I agree. 2 year loans, in Chelsea's case seem to really do wonders for our youth players development. Granted there are aways exceptions to this, but Baker being at Vitesse is a perfect example and Christensen at Gladbach the other obvious example. Mount has loads of talent. Let him play and work on it in Holland.

this move was a bit of a head-scratcher until I read about Harvard Medical School.

    http://www.bostoncityfc.com/news/former-vitesse-arnhem-and-international-keeper-joins-the-lions/

Boston City FC has signed former Dutch Under 20 national team goalkeeper Wouter Dronkers, who spent the past three seasons with Vitesse Arnhem of the Eredivisie, the top professional league in the Netherlands.

Dronkers has also played with FC Twente, where he was part of the club’s UEFA Europa League squad, while the club was managed by former England boss Steve McClaren, who guided Twente to the Dutch title and won the Johan Cruyff Shield, also known as the Dutch Super Cup.

Dronkers has represented the Dutch national team level at every age group from Under 15s to Under 20s

^^Interesting story but Dronkers never got a first team start at either Twente or Vitesse.
