Imagine if Al Franken had this lesson before quitting the Senate.

Tougher on the national stage. State's pols can usually get away with it.

Maybe it's a little longer. Biden stole speeches from Kennedy and got roasted for it. Now he's the front runner.

Al also had Kirsten Gillibrand. She saw an opportunity and now is trying to parlay it into her presidential run, which is failing miserably.

Tougher for Democrats. Al Franken's photo wouldn't have done in a Republican at any political level.

    Why not both.

I mean the crown prince of Saudi Arabia is also running around.

if you can survive the news cycle, you can survive a controversy.

Minnesota had a democratic governor. If Al Franken was a senator from Indiana or Kansas, IMO he would have survived.

Also when the deputy Governor caught his own sexual harassment case, the next in line was a republican. The fear of handing over the governorship to a republican killed down a lot of the criticism.

Nope. If the G and LG had both resigned, the next in line is he Democratic AG.

Northam and Fairfax just brazened it out.

1 - And he did terribly, but his policies are good. As Auria said upthread, somebody I can live with despite that shit.
1a - Had the LG (Fairfax) been a Republican, we'd still be hearing about it. That said, I think the things with both Northam and Fairfax also had weak legs from the start because they came from the same partisan source, and the WaPo were unsure on their story. But I'm still not okay with either of them (or any of them)
2 - He's getting it, just slower, and he likes to suck up all the oxygen even if he'd do better by not saying anything.

When Virginians voted, nobody knew about the blackface or the date rape-y stuff. Trump, on the other hand, had a long history of bullshit, failure and criminal activity.

Well, Stormy got $130k for what she did for him, so maybe he did 1/65th of that?

For your sake, I'm just hoping it was more like you were a sub-contractor at one of his bankrupt casinos and he stiffed you on a bill or sumfin, just like everyone else who did work for him...

My company sold them gear for the spa a the tower on Columbus Circle and his company screwed us out of the last payment. That would have been my commission cut. Primary reason why I didn't vote for him
