Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could help me...Me and some friends will be in Spain during the Villareal v. Barca game. You guys have any suggestions on ways to get tickets? Will it be sold out or a chance to get them day of the game? How long of a drive by car is it from Vila-real to Barca? Any help would be really appreciated, thanks guys.

If you don't have a car, you could train it from Barca to Castellon. Beautiful views down the coast.

Heard trains are pretty expensive though. I think we'll rent a car in Madrid April 24-25 and then head to Barca mid week, and then Thurs. start heading down the coast. Want to go to the Villareal game really bad. You have any info on how to get tickets?

Nope. I've just walked up to the box office in Barca, before. VCF is going to be tougher (#1 team, plus smaller stadium).

Trains are cheap (eurorail), but if you have a group to split a car, that could work.

When I lived in Madrid, we got really cheap cars from pepecar.

Yea I figured it would be a tough ticket. Can't believe tickets are so expensive in Spain either, I went to the Butler v. Duke title game for $80 hahaha, worst seats for Barca's game with Xerez are like more than that

Thanks for the pepecar name drop, we'll check it out. There's 4 of us so hopefully splitting the cost will work out well. Are the views driving down the coast as nice as the train route?

Looks like it is close, but I've only taken the train that way.

    UPDATE ===>

Villarreal are changing the model for 2010/2011 Season.

    1) Budget for 2010/2011 is to be €55m
    2009/2010 Budget is €70m
    2008/2009 Budget was €85m

    2) Villarreal acknowledged recently there were problems in paying monthly payments to players, but now everything is back to normal.

    3) Villarreal will spend ZERO on transfers for 2010/2011 season.

    4) Players will be sold and Villarreal B players (who play in the Segunda) will replace them.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Pires in MLS, then.

That was one patchwork lineup this weekend that beat Atletico -- Cazorla subbed in for Llorente? Javi Venta for Nilmar? Senna was out, but they are now in 6th and in Europa. Heck of a comeback.

Can I buy those tickets? Is there a special ticket window for visiting fans? Or will those tickets be sold in Barca before the matchday?

Where exactly is Vila-real? Is it close to Valencia city or just in that region? How long of a drive from Barca do you think?

Thanks for the info man, really appreciated

Yea saw the highlights, a few guys were missing and you still took care of them. Surprised there were so many empty seats against a good team with good players. The weather looked pretty bad I guess.

Hope you guys get a Europa spot

Is Senna likely to stay or go next season given all the players to be sold?

His name isn't commonly mentioned...but he has to, right? He's expensive and injury-prone, and 33. That's not a risk a small club can take. But this is his "club" -- I can see him taking a discount.

After his stellar Euro, he had plenty of bigger clubs looking at him.

I sure hope he stays. I am worried about all the injuries, but when he's out there, he's quality and a leader.
