...and with Jones and Beckermann being so damn solid behind him all he had to do was trap, dribble and pass. He didn't see capable of even that. And a new role does not impact your basic skills....only positioning.
That was a Puyol like performance.. He has adapted to the NT, finally. We truely have three great Center Backs but Hummels stood out by a margin.
Can't mention Hummels in the same breath as Carles Puyol until you see something as incredible as this He will always be one of my favorite defenders in the history of the game.
You haven't seen some of Hummels's runs then, perhaps not at that level, drawing a penalty, but he can generate an assist.
