Civ I was the reason why I blew off a a major assignment for a class sophomore year of college. I remember rushing home after my morning classes to play Civ while I listened to Steve and Garry "broadcast" from the Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill hearings. Civ I and Tony LaRussa Baseball. I'm so old.
So... Uh... Yeah... Nintendo just released a Tetris Battle Royale game called Tetris 99. Perfect game for the Switch, probably going to sink too much time into this.
I really enjoyed it. I get it that it wasn't what a lot of fans wanted, but I had a great time playing it.
I think the same "fans" that were disappointed with a certain aspect of ME3 (not saying what for lethargytartare's sake of possible spoilers) are the ones that were ready to dog pile on to Andromeda no matter what the final product was. It not being up to par with the original trilogy and having BioWare's B/C team make it doomed it from the get go for a lot people (there were tech issues too on release). That said, I like it but don't love it compared to the first three.
no worries on spoilers - I follow gaming press and forums heavily and am aware of the ME3 "why can't programmers give me infinite choice?" nontroversy. from what I can tell, the core ME fanbase, and most players (based on steam scores) consider all 3 games excellent, if not perfect. Thus far (played about an hour of ME2 before deciding I wanted to play a different Shepard through my 1st trilogy run) I concur. My only real beef so far is why they had to change the PC controls so much from 1 to 2. Seems like every good game now has a vocal minority complaining while the silent majority just have fun.
Most complaints when going from 1 to 2 are usually the dumbing down or absence of the RPG mechanics. I know I recommended the Leviathan DLC for 3 but 2 wouldn't be complete without picking up Lair of the Shadow Broker. In fact I'd get them all except for Project Firewalker.
Thanks - I think the bundle I got included all DLC, but I'll definitely check before digging in. It's been fun replaying 1 just for the subtle changes created by changing the Shep background and spending more time with different NPCs
I feel like Andromeda was the sort of game that was meant to be built upon by the next game, but the backlash from that first game sort of ruined the chances of having that built narrative.
This game is horeshit. I keep losing. I think freesync is ********ing me up. Think I'll take a walk to cool down.
not yet, just decided to play with a different pre-service setup, and spend more time with Liara and Tali.
You should try Femshep. Despite the fact that she's the "alternate" hero, the story and acting is even better with her. It feels like the game was made for her.
Not too sure if there was a Crackdown equivalent on the Playstation. Are you thinking of Infamous maybe?
For some reason I'm in Diablo mood so it's time to play a seasonal Necromancer in Diablo 3 to level 70...
I'm about 50% through X-Men - The Official Game on Xbox 360. The game is set between X2 and The Last Stand. It's pretty basic and linear and I'm not putting much effort into finding the collectibles. Wolverine missions are straight forward button mashers. Nightcrawler adds the teleport ability to button mashing. Iceman is more of a flyer, with inverted controls. It's not a terrible game, but it isn't great either. Controls are decent, except for the inverted axis for Iceman. Finally got a working 360 copy of The Incredible Hulk. Superman Returns, Green Lantern - Rise of the Manhunters, Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and X-Men Origins - Wolverine all arrived over the weekend. I've played through Hulk, Iron Man and Wolverine on the PC versions, so I'll probably go with Green Lantern next.
