I'm begrudgingly supporting your club in an upcoming match so don't make me card you for doling out spoilers regarding a tv show that's been over for several years! I'll do it, I swear, I will!

It's not really much of a spoiler.

What are your thoughts on the Catch 22 series? The book was a bear to get through, but I think the series looks like it could be pretty solid.

Ah the beloved Other-footy-teams thread... first it was hoops, then xG, and now TV series. Next up: Deodorants and body piercings?

I didn't know it had been made into a series, but I didn't find the book a bear to get through and suspect "Yossarian" didn't either.

I was just using my contrasting views of the book and my initial impression of the show as a gauge. I was curious how someone — who very likely enjoyed the book — viewed the upcoming series. I didn’t hate the book... it was just wasn’t one of those books that I couldn’t put down. By the end, I appreciated the overall work but I just had to power through portions of it.

Are you kidding? I'm going to be in the fetal position the entire match, covering my eyes, sipping bourbon straight from a CamelBak.

A bear to get through?! Pish posh, it's an amazing book (in fairness I know many people who've said they didn't find it an easy read). But yes, I'm looking forward to this attempt. The old Arkin film was not very good.
Related trivia: Simon & Garfunkel's The Only Living Boy in New York (my favorite song of theirs, btw, and excellently used in the film Garden State) was Paul's lament about Art going off to film the Catch-22 movie in Mexico, as he foresaw the ending of their partnership.

So let me get this straight. Frank Lampard, Jody Morris, John Terry AND Ashley Cole will all feature in the Championship promotion playoff between Aston Villa and Derby County!?!

And at 38, Ashley Cole is PLAYING, not managing!?!

It would be pretty crazy to see Cashley back in the Prem. No way he still has enough pace, right? But he must be dreaming. :p

    Damn.

One that stands out to me is 87 shots on target! I just got done kvteching about an Atlanta match where the team only got 2 shots on target and Messi averaged more than that for a whole league season. Wow.

Funny enough I had the same experience yesterday where my NYRB could only muster 2 shots on target. But I can live with that because we played with 10 men for 60 mins, and only could get 33% possession. And in the end it's all good because we buried one of those 2 shots. ;)
