I would normally be remiss to say this, but it's not like the outcome is in doubt. In light of S***s win @ Palace today I looked at the table and added the points. Lest I'm mistaken an Arsenal loss Sunday would confirm no St. Totteringham's day for this year. Of all the f***ing scenarios...
FT, a draw in the Mancs derby... the best we could've hoped for. Now just the small task of going to the Lane and beating a team that's widely considered to be the best in the Prem right now. No problem!
Just saw the highlights. Has there ever been a stupider 2 yellows in quick succession than what Fellaini came up with?
Second was a straight red. Aguero sold it well, but was pretty stupid by Fellaini. Unfortunate for us, because that means Fellaini doesn't play next week.
Continues to amaze me how footballers keep doing things like Fellani headbutting and think they're gonna get away with it. If Zidane could get a red card in a WC final for an off the ball incident, the hell are some of these lesser footballers thinking?
"Think" is the key word. They clearly aren't doing that. They give in to impulsive emotions, they let themselves be wound up, etc. But ultimately it's their split-second instincts that take over. Human nature. That said, they are well schooled in the risks of letting this happen, so in this case Fallaini showed that he is a very poor student.
You obviously never played sports Losing control of emotions in the spirit of fight happens Not everyone can be Raul on the pitch
Watching Chelsea's wild celebrations at Goodison Park right now. It sure looks like they believe they just won the title. And I think they just did.
It's possible, but under Conte these celebrations aren't that unusual. He's always a bit over the top with them.
There's a way to get back at someone without (always) getting booked: a good hard tackle solves that problem.
Fabregas is better than any of Arsenals midfielders Forgot to post this last week, on Cesc Fabregas compensating for tactical indiscipline with crazy assist figures https://t.co/TJslqqiXwr— Michael Cox (@Zonal_Marking) May 1, 2017
sure, but there is a reason why he has only played 11.6 matches in total. His legs are gone. Now put a guy with no legs in a system like ours where he has to run a lot. Cesc would look garbage here. I think you know that too as you have said as much about our midfielders not having their roles defined for most of the season.
Here lies problem Good "hard tackle "in high intensity match can lead to straight red Point is... controlling emotions is much easier said than done Especially when a player relies on emotions to perform
Eh - I'm not sure how much worse than Xhaka he'd be. He'd certainly link attack and defense better than anyone you have, a lot like Cazorla. Cazorla, at his age isn't exactly a midfield dynamo anymore either, but he's great in your system.
We need a new manager and about 8 new players and after that we can talk about what is what. My short list of players we need starts with Diawara from Napoli
Cazorla dribbles better than Cesc. And "how much worse than Xhaka he'd be" isnt a glowing endorsement in the Wenger system. I know he plays for Chelsea so you have to defend him, but he wouldnt improve us based on how Wenger would use him.
I am not saying he is the holy grail Simply pointing out that he has had a key role in (likely) two titles in 3 years Wenger could have signed him nearly for free. Fail.
I said at the time we should have taken Cesc back and people suggested we made the right call as he would keep Jack and Rambo out of the side. One is out of the side and the other should be.
