There's more access to the game via TV and various mediums. I don't miss the old days of Fox Soccer Channel that's for sure. Coincidentally, there's a bunch of people I know who go to Detroit City games now. 10 years ago the thought was laughable.
We need to organize a summer exchange program with Juventus. We will send our players to learn how to defend, and we will teach their players how to manage their social media presence.
Take that for data! But seriously, the Grizzlies foul like crazy, because that's how they play. Jerry Sloan's Jazz teams used to do that too. It wasn't a screw job. Also, NBA refereeing has less significance, other than in final seconds - and if you're good, you won't get to those. Two bad fouls - no problem. But you get two bad cards in a football match, and you're done. Same with penalties - a bad foul isn't a big deal in the second quarter. A penalty in the 40th minute is massive!
The dude that dates supermodels and lives his life like a brand is in any way relatable to you? What is your life like?
Different players If u saw ronaldo he looks like he's created in a lab and messi by a deranged scientist I honk ronaldo proved his worth in 2 leagues but messi has arguably been better at his peak Either way, 2 all time attacking greats
The fact that, after 20 years or so, they're able to have good crowds at every MLS game is testament to soccer having arrived in the US. It was one thing to sell out places like the Rose Bowl for World Cup matches, it was another if they could sustain decent crowds for as long as MLS existed.
If you had told some NBC Sports exec in 1990 that they would've paid serious money to broadcast a major European soccer league, they would've been calling for the police thinking you're crazy.
Lol, same thought ten years ago. What I really appreciate now is the mediums we have to watch it. Tablet, smart phone, TV or smart TV, or the computer. It's insane but it's awesome.
I think of all the things that would have been implausible in 1990 that have actually happened, the US watching the Premier League is pretty far down the list.
Considering the many mediums people around the world have to watch TV, you'd think UEFA would come up with an "NFL Sunday Ticket"-type package for both the Champions League and the Europa League. The millions they could generate per season would dwarf anything FIFA could attempt.
If Arsenal wanted to get top four this year (and I'm not sure this team does), it just got a lot easier- http://deadspin.com/report-knee-injury-will-keep-zlatan-ibrahimovic-out-fo-1794535682
Yeah they lost Rojo too I heard. So, yes this could help us IF we really mount a SERIOUS EFFORT to take back 4th place. That remains to be seen. In other news, I heard that the Dortmund bus bombing was not terrorism but rather someone who would benefit financially from Monaco winning. How nice.
Close. I don't understand the intricacies of it, but basically, he would profit from the team's stock price going down. If the first team was murdered, it would. What a ********ing asshole.
Basically doing it out of greed: took out a loan, put it on Dortmund (they're publicly traded), hoped his bombs would get some of them killed and, as the stock tanked, he'd rake in millions. BVB bombing suspect acted out of greed (ESPNFC). A quick death is too good for that bastard. He should be thankful for German privacy laws; otherwise there would be a group of BVB supporters wanting to use his head like a football.
You're right. He was shorting Dortmund stock, so he figured bombing them would drive the price down and make him a bunch of money. The opposite happened. And with any luck this guy will go to jail for life.
This is literally a story line on Grand Theft Auto V. (Replace soccer team with CEO of a Facebook type company)
