he's easily better than kroos, modric has been great for a long time, so there is definitely and argument there.

The data confirms what the eyes see. Thiago is a baller (and I've said this for a long time). He's what we wish Xhaka would become. Different player from Kroos though - Kroos is who we'd wish Ramsey became. Modric is a great player, but also not as good as he once was, and I'd never call a former Sper best at anything.
Xhaka and Thiago are two different central midfielders who take up two different positions on the pitch. Kroos is used more like how Xhaka is at Madrid. Thiago is a much better version of Santi. I'm okay with Xhaka not dribbling that much for instance.

Kroos has multiple seasons of high performance which Thiago does not yet have For me Thiago has to produce some of this form against euro elite before he can even be mentioned in a Kroos discussion
