Tip: Only a couple of thousand tickets are available for each game (They had to cap season tickets at 35,000 due to goverment regulations)... normally in the expensive sections. If money is not a problem try ticketmaster.com.mx or scalpers, bearing in mind that scalpers will triple or quadruple the face value of the ticket. My daughter was in Monterrey last year for 5 weeks doing an internship at TEC. All I got was a shirt. I'll go one of these days. I hear it's pretty nice.
I have been going on business quite often lately. Will be there at least two or three more times this year. I always stay a few blocks from Tigres stadium. Does that count?
El Volcan is next to "Universidad" station of the Monterrey metro... so wherever you stay, make sure you can ride the metro to the game.
last time i went, i travelled to Monterrey on Bus, got out of Terminal and headed a few blocks to buy a ticket on Metro. got on metro, waited a few, and was there. easy as that.
