Conte's already made it clear he's not impressed by him. Plays him out of position etc But he's young and raw so he'll probably have to wait till after Euro's before he becomes a permanent member.
Future of the midfield. Our Xavi/Iniesta based on the way he plays but definitely the rightful Pirlo heir. Now the rest of our young guys need to be on the same talent wavelength as him...
@Falc If Verratti doesn't produce the goods how long do you give it before the fans start turning on him, ala Montolivo and Aquilani style?
Define producing the goods? I think the two of us have a different meaning than a lot of the fan boys. Right now, he makes a good supporting midfielder, which is nothing wrong. Even with PSG, he is not playing the center role. He usually lines up as a right midfielder with Motta, Matuidi and Luiz taking the center role. He can play that role for Conte but needs to make runs forward to play in his system. If the expectation is that Verratti will be this offensive maestro ala Pirlo, than he will fail. If instead it is based on his qualities, he can be productive but not in the way some already think he is.
Based on the way he plays, Verratti is more like Iniesta than Pirlo/Xavi. He's good at short passing and has great vision like them, but what Iniesta did that the former Maestro's didn't do much of is make forward runs a lot and he has much more flair and ball control than Pirlo and Xavi, just like Iniesta. He is Pirlo's heir, but not in a typical regista role. His role is more advanced similar to what Iniesta did for Barca.
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...ise-bid-star-Man-United-target-Marco-Verratti Who is this little French guy the big clubs are fighting over?
"The Bernabeu club are keen on making the central midfielder new manager Rafael Benitez's first signing of his reign." That explains everything. LOL.
