Please remind me because I don't seem to recall
When he was substituted. Apparently that means being punished
Looking forward to the Little French Guy highlight reels of today's CL match. The expectations some of you place on him is too high.
he had a great foul on Messi there near the end
The Veratti debate is going on in the Juve Champion's League thread.
Some people like to nit pick, unless he walks on water he'll never be good enough for them.
No, he is just not as good as some want him to be. Even you agree with that.
On both your claims: if you say so.
And yes, he's clearly not the Baggio you expect him to be. No arguments there.
I never had that expectation. Thus why many criticize me for speaking the truth.
lol, if you say so.
Cue in the other one to tell us how Verratti was exclusively responsible for the goalkeeping and defending gaffe's, poor refereeing calls, and whatever other half-baked theories he can muster in 5...4....3.....2........
Why are you putting the blame for PSG's deficiencies on Verratti?
lol, if you say so
Come on Pauly, when PSG defeated Barcelona 4:0, many were drooling on the one assist Verratti made. It was proof that my assessment was wrong. Others went crazy on Draxler too. Neither produced today. Not their fault that they are not superhuman. So why am I the bad guy to recognize their limitations?
Oh I think he did a little more than that. You wanted to pretend that you saw none if it. Coming out and mentioning him now, on the day PSG fails, is pretty transparent, if you ask me.
Soon we'll hear from our village idiot as to all the reasons today's game was Verratti's fault.
There is no player around, today, that a team should be built around. We've been discussing this over already so you're well aware that I think it's a moot argument.
Don't ask me about that argument although there are a few players who may get built around in the coming years (Dybala, Neymar, Griezmann to name a few). I never claimed any team should be built around Verratti. But there have been a number on this thread and others who have. So ask them.
The only good thing he has done was getting Pescara to Serie A.
You made the reverse argument as valid criticism though. I don't see it as valid criticism since I don't believe any player is worth building a team around.
I seriously doubt any team will be built around those names. One player hasn't carried a team since like forever.
My criticism is not against the player but the outrageous comments from those who think he is this great player that has to be the star of gli Azzurri. Don't confuse the two. I have acknowledged his qualities but also see his limitations. I have not assessed him as a bad player, just not the megastar others make him out to be. If he is a skillful version of Gattuso, is that a bad thing?
So you want to police a few harmless comments by going to ridiculous extremes on the other end? Makes no sense.
You rarely acknowledge his qualities and hyper exaggerate that which he needs to improve. That's the difference. There's no balance.
Hey look, I know you were mostly trolling today with your comments in here, at least earlier on. At least you didn't blame the loss on him. You have some sanity left in your vecchiaia
What is extreme about my assessment of the player? He does need to improve. His vision is narrow. He does a great job in a short distance play, likely due to the small ball training that is popular today on the training pitch. His highlight reels usually involve him keeping possession against a player or two and then passing it along to the next teammate in the vicinity. Good qualities but does little to advance the ball. So I am particular about my playmaking midfielder. He is not that player. No reason to kick him down the curb. Instead of arguing with my evaluation of the player, tell me why I should consider him to be so great. I have yet to see one post to show that from anyone.
Wanting him to be Baggio.
That he only makes safe 5yard passes.
Did Sal pee in your corn flakes this morning or something?
Reposted for your benefit, since you've said you don't watch much,
Short distance, keeping possession, passing in vicinity and not advancing balls, yep.
6:58 - different angle from the 3:51 play
Boy the French league really is trash lol...
Draxler came on late and looked one of their better players.
too easy atm not worth the effort.
3-1 at this point in the 85th minute. If Di Maria isn't fouled by Masch and scores here, it's over. Not sure who was in the final 1/3 making that diagonal through ball to Di Maria. Can anyone translate Spanish for me?
