Yeah, they've got some post-season training coming soon. It is definitely possible that Mansueto isn't viewing the "end of the season" until after that is done.

My FO sources tell me before Hauptman decided to sell he was looking into Chicago Fire Penis Pillows as the STH gift for 2020.

Assuming the team is successful in getting people into the stadium next summer (and let's be honest, the sheer novelty of having them back will do that at least initially), I doubt that many of those future attendees could even name the coach or GM today. Can Pauno and Rodriguez build a winning team finally? Signs point to "they can, but probably won't" but I don't think their continued presence is going to do all that much to keep people away initially.

FWIW, I just got back from the marathon expo and picked through the Fire Foundation booth since they usually sell leftover academy jerseys and stuff for like 10 bucks a piece. No luck on finding anything since I'm not a XXL but a lot of people coming up to talk to them and asking if the schedule was out, some people chatting with the reps about the new owner, and just overall a lot more attention than I've ever seen at that booth. ...so hey, it's something.

  5. You and I "can, but probably won't" too. Whether or not Mansueto makes a change, I'm sure more than a few CVs/resumes are crossing his desk. Some pretty accomplished ones too.

I'm always up for L, XL, XXL academy/training gear. Must check it out next year.

Oh, come now. Neither of us are up for an "L" any more.
    "XL" for sure

  7. I can actually squeeze into some L spandexy compression gear for cold weather activity. I hide the casing with more appropriate sized clothes. I have a compassionate soul sometimes.

@willydonc and "spandexy" combine for an image I will not be able to get out of my head.

Spandexy's Midnught Runners is the name of my new 80's cover band.

  11. I used to think the only men who were allowed to wear spandex were Jon Bon Jovi & David Lee Roth. Steven Tyler only had two names, so not. Those were the 80’s, when I thought like an 80’s person and spoke like an 80’s person. Now I am a 21st Century Schizoid Man and have no need of 80’s things. And compression clothes are my friends.

    Have a nice day!

I honestly cannot believe these guys are coming back. Leave soccer entirely out of it, that is the most insanely stupid business decision imaginable. It's your existing fanbase and the soccer media that are going to be the pied pipers on this move, they're the ones who can deliver the message of "get excited, this is the real thing" and you are now absolutely guaranteeing that doesn't happen.

Another week has come and gone and, yet, Veljko Paunovic is still employed by the Chicago Fire.

In the words of Donald J. Trump: "Sad"

I'm ok with this! YES. He had a strange "doghouse" protocol it seemed. Add the link to the PURGE page.

@willydonc don't tell his mother , but I'm sponsoring a night at polekatz if the Gattuso comment comes to fruition.

The former AC Milan coach? Milan looked like shit under him last year, kind of like the Fire under Hamlett, somewhat winning without looking good. Granted they've looked like shit this year with 2 new coaches, could have been a shitty roster.
