Well w/ all the pissed-off Huracan fans Velez better offer some protection to Gabriel Brazenas at least for helping them secure this campeonato. If not he better never set foot inside or near Parque Patricios if he values his life..... ........at this point i find it difficult for him to continue in the league w/o being heavily scrutinized ..... sure he is human but damn , that call ...
Apparently he'll get a one month suspension. But also it's been said that he didn't pass two physical exams... So go figure.
didn't pass those exams and still gets to officiate the single most important game of the season. How do things like that go unchecked?? how does the line judge , and the 4th official not say anything to Brazenas? AFA would be smart to never let him officiate a Huracan game for the next year or two...
Then again that's the usual cycle, like Baldassi can't officiate San Lorenzo, Laverni can't officiate Tigre, Pompei can't officiate Independiente and so on...
Then again you have the Lunatti's who just can't officiate anyone. Back in the 50s they had to bring foreign referees because the domestic ones sucked, could it be the time to do that again?
Yeah, our refs are poor. But, having seen the level of refs in Copa Libertadores and in other South American countries, I don't think it would be an improvement. Concacaf is unthinkable. And frankly having seen Champions league and Euro refs in general it's not much of an improvement either. I think for example what happened to Huracan is relatively minor compared to what happened to Chelsea in the Champions semifinal. We can't look overseas. I think the only solution is to improve on what we got at home.
While it seems that in the whole world referees tend to have brain farts it seems to be once in a while for each referee, different case for Argentina and in CONCACAF of course.
Despite my bias, I think many of you would take Bielsa back for the Albi. Good coach better gentleman. http://www.lacapital.com.ar/contenidos/2009/07/21/noticia_0067.html
