its awsome to see so many battery fans. you couldve just as easily supported dc or sat in this forum and cried about not having a team. i almost wish red bull wasnt around so i could support a smaller team. their logo is kick ass by the way

Battery win 3-1, with Kenny Cooper scoring for FCD right before the final whistle.

It was pleasant change from last week's game against Houston, where the ref was trying to be the center of attention all night. Lot's of good no calls and not to many cards.

Well, congrats to The Battery and you fans; a job very well done.

I said that there would be no excuses from this FC Dallas fan if we lost, and there won't be. In fact, I wish I had the authority to apologize for my team's failure to play well enough to even make it interesting.

I've said all along that Charleston was dangerous and to be respected and I was right. I sincerely wish you all the best going forward. Your team deserves to go forward from here; nothing cheap about it.

    Again, congrats!

Oh, one other quick thing: Alavanja has got to be about as big a dumb-ass as he could be. How in the hell can you score a goal, have your team up 2-0 and still manage to get a straight red from the bench?

I truley hope it does not hurt your chances in the next round.

Good game, gentlemen. Your guys played with class. And your fans have also showed class on this board and on the FC Dallas board. I just wish we could have made it a game. Though, in some respects, I am glad our team played the way they did. This was our "A" lineup, for the most part (the only changes were really due more to USOC rules re: internationals than any desire to play reserves), and the transfer window opens soon. Some of those guys need to go, because this is their everyday game. I'm glad you guys were there to highlight this fact to the management. Maybe we can pick up some of your guys in the window; you have a few quality defenders I'd like to see in Hoops. Again, though, I hope to see you guys again next year either in the Battery pre-season shindig or in the US Open Cup.

PS- I'm going to try to talk my wife into the Aug. 12 game at your house. I probably won't make it, but it's worth a shot. It's a 6 hour drive from Auburn, AL, but it might be worth it (no matter whether it's KC or Seattle).

I heard on the Battery board over on usldiscussions.com that he was red carded for not putting on a Penny on the sidelines.

Much alcohol here at the Madra Rua!

Great game and thanks Mikey for the feed at Rua.

And to Dallas fans let me be the first to say THANK YOU for not doing the Houston and complaining about the loss and actually crediting us for the win. I must admit was a little surprised about the score but where was Cooper and those headers earlier in the game? That was my biggest concern before the game started.

Cant wait for the game on the 12th of August....Blackbaud is going to be rockin...i can feel it. Just hope we'll be ok without Lazo in the lineup...stupid move on whatever he did

Great game guys! Although the red on Lazo was a little spoiler in the victory.

Incredible result! I'm going to go way out on a limb and predict that at least one USL club will be in the US Open Cup Final.

    GO BATTERY!!!

Thanks for joining the long list of teams that have beaten the snot out of them (sadly, we aren't on that list this year )

Not to sound like a butt but that sounds out of character ;)

Good luck. Show them why they aren't "MLS"

    Congrats, guys.

Since I'm a remote Dallas fan, I may not count as a real one.

I'm torn between y'all and Seattle to win it all. But I lean toward y'all. It would be so awesome for you to be in the CONCACAF Champions League.

...assuming that this years USOC winner will be in the CCL...nothing has been said about next year's qualifications (and don't think that the USSF/CONCACAF wouldn't change things to suit them)

Dude, AWESOME win for the Battery.

I'm seriously considering coming down to Charleston for the Semi's.

I'm not in to the "what if's", BUT if DC and Charleston somehow both made it into the Finals, that would be a wet soccer dream for me. I'd only be faced with the question of who to root for.

Well done Battery! I broke out my "old" Battery shirt and wore it Wednesday in tribute. Alot of people asked me about it and I had to explain the Cup tie win and who the Battery are.
