Convincing. Just like LA, start slow, but dominate...

Good road win. Didn’t let the Whitecaps antics get under their skin. Dominating performance.

Is it time for another war in the Middle East already?

Quakes have been killing it on social media recently, this is... a strange choice.

So... great schedule up ahead. Crew, Rapids, KC. LA game couldn't come at a better time really should be an exciting matchup.

Given how well Vako has played since returning to the starting lineup, I feel very stupid about my comments earlier in the season about how he seemed like a prime trade or transfer candidate.

    60% - 40% possession
    32 - 6 shots
    11 - 1 corners

Also Vako better make the team of the week after that performance...

Almeyda certainly has the Earthquakes playing their most complete soccer thus far in the post-Golden Age.

The most attractive soccer I've ever seen the team play. And Vako has finally figured out what it takes to be a DP.

It harkens back to the woeful 2008 "Are You With Us?" Quakes marketing campaign (not to mention the second war in Iraq.) :)

Huh? He's always been a good low-end DP, even last season's stats bear that out. What he's doing now is above his pay grade. If he keeps this up his agent will ask for a new contract.
Who cares about the second war in Iraq....right now if you're in the Quakes way you better move the Fcuck aside, we're coming and we'll mow everything down to shreds!

I'm no social media genius but instead of associating the Quakes with an incredibly unpopular war I might have considered a moon landing reference... maybe "one giant leap towards the playoffs" or something. (shrug)

The Quakes are finally dialed in to playing the game the right way (showing for the ball, playing with composure and passing with a purpose instead of hastily booting the ball around, defending all over the field, and working hard for each other). It's a joy to watch right now.

Not only was it great to win again, it was a relief to be able to hold onto the lead for so long, and avoid any injuries. Early in the game, I figured that between that awful field and Vancouver's gamesmanship, somebody was going to get hurt at some point.

Lately (for a change), it easier to list the guys who didn't play so well than it is to list the guys who did. I thought Lima and Hoesen were a little off, otherwise everybody showed well tonight. Vako deserves a lot of credit for what he did, but let's not forget about the guys (Flo, Jackson, Judson, TT, etc) who helped us to keep the ball with some crisp movements and passing as we built our attacks. Even Eriksson was crisp and sharp tonight in terms of picking out accurate and well-timed passes. I don't know what the hell Vancouver's defense was thinking on the play where Magnus scored, but he did a nice job of accepting the gift and finishing.

When the goal against came, I had no worry about the Quakes. It wasn't that I was sure they would win, sometimes the bounces go the wrong way, but I was sure it wouldn't change anything. They'd just get back to playing their game, which is better than the Caps' current game, and they'd probably win. I even liked the look on Vega's face after the goal. It was "crap! that is not good! let's go turn this around guys!" rather than the rage that you so often see on a keeper's face. This team is so fun.

So what was up with Vancouver's Left Back running into Espinoza and diving all game? Wish I could have been in stadium to watch the circumstances around this as the refs didn't do anything so I assume it must have been going both ways.

You are right. No more of Yallop's , Watson's or Kinnear's kick and run or Stahre's whatever it was he had.

Everyone is playing beautifully with a lot of heart and skill. The way they are passing the ball all around and spraying passes to each player is something I've rarely seen in MLS but never from the Quakes.

Each player has been playing great but you know if you watch closely, the play of both Magnus Eriksson and Cristian Espinoza's play has been invaluable.

No, I was encapsulating the impression that S.J. Jim and falvo articulated so much better. The team won often in 2012, but too often those were ugly, gritty victories whereas this is confident, flowing soccer.
