It's official. #ValpoInTheValley pic.twitter.com/ubXUPsMFOp— Missouri Valley Conference (@MVCsports) May 25, 2017 Shouldn't make a huge impact on the Horizon for soccer. They played a round-robin with 10 members last year (with affiliate Belmont replacing full member Youngstown State for men's, all schools played women's). With only 9 members for other sports, I am guessing they pursue a replacement for Valpo although the pickings aren't great. For the Valley, they will go up to 8 members for men's soccer, including 6 actual Valley schools (Drake, Valpo, Loyola, Bradley, Evansville, Mo State). Not sure the last time that the MVC was in theory autobid-eligible without affiliates was. Probably never. They already did eight games (two home/home last year) with the smaller conference....scheduling with 8 is even easier...everyone once and then repeat one "rival". Women's league is up to 8, all full members.
