Will he get significant minutes this season or is he due a loan? I must say I like the look of him so far. Hoping he's more Pogba than Eikrem.
I'm confident he will stay at least for the coming season. Think Van Gaal sees him as a pet project and will look to his development personally like some of the other CMs he's groomed in the last 20yrs.
With the talk of other attacking options leaving with precious little brought in to replace them the minutes are there if we go deep in competitions and he grabs his opportunity. He could play in the hole, from a wing or as one of the advanced central midfield players against weaker sides.
That's my thought Teso. If we ditch ADM and don't replace him, maybe sell Young, all of a sudden Andreas gets time. Same with Januzaj. If we imagine 4-3-3, with 2 of the midfielders being some sort of rotation of Schneiderlin/Schweini/Carrick/Blind and possibly Fellaini, then there are 4 "attacking" spots available. They have to be split among Rooney, Cheech, Wilson, Depay, Valencia, Herrera, Mata, possibly Young or Di Maria depending on sales, then Januzaj, Pereira. I may be missing someone here, but there's a chance for the kids there.
Not a bad time to revive this thread with Pereira ready to play some type of role with United next season. Looking for big things from him. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-transfers-andreas-pereira-13151606 www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-united-news-andreas-pereira-13154708
Pereira is going to be a guy to keep an eye on during the preseason tour. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-utd-fixtures-tour-pereira-13298848 Looking forward to see him in action tbh.
One of the players I most look forward to seeing on this tour. Btw, is there a roster for players coming on the pre-season tour?
Same here tbph. The squad we're taking on tour is going to be announced shortly, according to Manutd.com...
AP is looking to make the most of this preseason. www.espnfc.com/manchester-united/story/3156712/manchester-uniteds-andreas-pereira-determined-to-win-jose-mourinho-over As mentioned previously, he's one of the players I look forward to see in action, hoping it will lead to a genuine breakthrough this season.
AP is desperate to stay at the club next season. www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/10958460/manchester-uniteds-andreas-pereira-keen-to-avoid-another-loan-move
AP is looking to build on a good preseason. www.espn.co.uk/football/club/manchester-united/360/blog/post/3171470/pereira-seeks-a-chance-to-impress-jose-mourinho-in-manchester-united-first-team
United have given AP a new contract. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-utd-news-pereira-contract-13564920 Proof right there of the faith the club has in him. It may be dïsappointing he's gone out on loan again, but his minutes with United would ave been sparse at best. The situation for him should be much more favorable next season, especially with another solid season of regular football under his belt.
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ndreas-pereira-wants-to-see-out-valencia-loan makes sense. things seem frosty between him and José anyway
Makes sense to me too. Being constantly passed over for Fellaini early in the season, the only action Pereira would have ever seen is at Carrington.
AP could definitely be an option for United in January. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-transfer-andreas-pereira-13885357 Even if there may be no room for him in central midfield, our play at the 10 and on the right have been so mediocre, he could provide a boost in either one of those positions. At the end of the day, the decision is not his. Jose really should bring him back.
It's an interesting dilemma we face with Pereira. It appears that Mourinho wants to keep Fellaini (despite gobs of rumors that we're shipping him off to Turkey) and until we actually sell Mata to a Spanish club he's still going to get the call over Pereira. Pogba of course is going nowhere and it wouldn't be in AP's interest to be PP's long term backup. And with 2018 being a World Cup year, it wouldn't stand to reason that rotting on the bench behind the likes of Fellaini and Mata would be in his AP's professional interest. Sure, the club owns his playing rights but if AP just isn't good enough in Mourinho's eyes to be trusted with EPL action there's really no point in alienating the player by taking him off the pitch in Spain only to rot in training in England. Pogba has been out for a while, which could have been AP's chance to shine, but Pogba is coming back soon. How soon I have no idea but surely sooner than January 1.
Why AP is flourishing at Valencia. www.skysports.com/football/news/11837/11137142/andreas-pereira-why-man-utd-youngster-is-flourishing-at-valencia
AP still sees a future for himself at United. www.theguardian.com/football/2018/feb/01/andreas-pereira-alex-ferguson-manchester-united The kid, if nothing else remains consistent in his stance. He's very confident in himself, he wants to remain at United, but he just wants to be taken seriously and play. Let's hope next season he can finally make a real breakthrough.
