I read somewhere that this "lawsuit" isnt really a lawsuit per se. It is copyright case or somethjng along those lines. And since the 2 organizations cant agree, thus case is being used to see to what extent the KC Royals own the Royals name without them openly conceeding ownership. Its more drawing lines and maybe hoping to push out the Utah Royals name, but they arent attacking the team financially. Its a smart business move thats being taken out of context. Wish i remembered where i read that. It could be wrong, but seems believeable.
pretty sure that is in the very soapbox articles I linked. If not, it is in some of the more recent ones they've published. A regular person who comments on there is an attorney that specializes in IP Law, which this relates to in a lot of ways
