This post didn't age well, and it's only 23 minutes old. The over-the-hill Carli Lloyd scores 5 minutes into the match. Oh well, you can't get all your predictions right.
Lloyd and Press with some terrific 1-on-1 goals. Finally, we are giving the Swedes a spanking. It's been a long time coming.
I've loved a lot of what I have seen from Press, Heath and Lloyd so far. The defense has been solid enough and transitioned pretty well. There have been a couple of nice looking goals and all have been well earned. I can't get over Lloyd's chip. That was dumb.

Ertz was barrelled into while trying to head the ball. She's feeling what her husband feels every Sunday. Zach will be proud.
Ain't no USWNT like a USWNT who know they're auditioning for their spots. (I really didn't expect a 3-0 game against Sweden in the first half.)
This is probably the first time I've said this: Sonnett is having a good game. I like Lloyd in the middle and Press on the flank. I used to say that Press wasn't any good on the flank, but she (finally) proved me wrong. Lavelle hasn't done much, but she's the sort of player you want to get the ball. She's spectacular to see.
Tactics note (while we're trying to find the small differences that Vlatko may be trying to implement): On paper the #USWNT looked the same as it did under Jill Ellis but tactically? Not quite. Heath in particular is playing really deep and central at times - not just hugging the touch lines. Defensively, compact blocks of 4 so Sweden can't get on the break - less about pressing.— Caitlin Murray (@caitlinmurr) November 8, 2019
The fouling has been from forward players. It has been frustration. I'm much more mixed on her. She hasn't been bad, but she has had some mistakes.
