Sunday February 21st 4pm Central/5pm Eastern USA Broadcast: NBCSN, NBC Universo Canada Broadcast: Sportsnet 1
I waited a whole ten minutes after the semifinal ended to post a thread for this match only to realize someone had beaten me to it. You couldn't even wait for the whistle to blow on Trinidad and Tobago? Disrespectful...
I waited until they were up 5-0. T&T was never going to score 5 goals in 20 minutes. Although I want Canada to win, the US will dominate and win this upcoming game I think. We have been playing really poor football. Our veterans have been sloppy and Sinclair has been having muscle problems.
Thanks for the inside info. No, but seriously. I hope it's a good and exciting match to watch. Canada always brings it against the USA.
The most important thing about this match is No Injuries. Do you think the players can make a "no slide tackling" pact. Tangential thoughts: I would've given Scott a yellow for P. I. somewhere in the second half vs. CRC. And the PK was not soft. She clearly committed a direct kick foul in the penalty area =>PK. Direction and distance only matter if you're deciding on whether or not to card the fouler.
It should be a good game. Canada is using a very young squad, and coach Herdman is doing his best to play possession, getting rid of the old kick and run dinosaur players who can't adapt.
Interesting article on the match: http://equalizersoccer.com/2016/02/...hope-solo-concacaf-womens-olympic-qualifying/ Headline:
She was limping in the 2005 NCAA championship and scored two goals in the final ....against a Jill Ellis team.
Herdman seems mentally unstable. I know it's just his idea of gamesmanship, but it just comes off as the crazies. I'm excited to see the young players, on both sides. This will be fun and I hope we don't have to endure Melissa Trancredi the whole match, she should be a rugby team. or roller derby.
John Herdman is a delusional arrogant prick and thinks his team is the greatest ever and that Sinclair can do no wrong. Whenever the USWNT beats his team, he always has some conspiracy theory about how the US cheated or paid off the refs.
This coverage information [which by the way U.S. Soccer's own website corroborates] is a little deceptive. Apparently it's only being streamed online through NBCSN and not televised on NBCSN itself. The U.S.-T&T semifinal was televised but the not U.S.-Canada final. Makes sense. College Basketball and NHL Live [talking heads] are so much more important.
Ya, first game against Guyana she just left the field for the last 20 minutes or so; we played with 10-women. Of course, didn't matter that game. http://www.torontosun.com/2016/02/2...-rivalry-after-securing-olympic-qualification "Carrying a calf injury, captain Christine Sinclair limped off in the 82nd minute Friday after a stellar two-goal performance. Veteran goalkeeper Erin McLeod played the whole game but is nursing a knee injured in December at a tournament in Brazil."
A technicality; to me that doesn't count. 90% of the fun of watching a game on TV is watching it as it happens [give or take a second-several delay].
if you stay away from bigsoccer and the sports channels on tv (as I plan to do), then it's essentially a live game to you. They are, of course, broadcasting it live on universo. it's only nbcsn that's delaying it.
The author probably assumed that same thing that any other reasonable person would without checking [which is a big part of what upsets me]. NBCSN is definitely playing it at 10 P.M EST, not live. Don't think I have Universo. Even after successfully avoiding spoilers, it's just not the same when it's not live. I plan on watching the live stream online, but I was hoping I could watch it on the big screen. That being said, I'm grateful I can watch the match live at all.
Up at this foresaken hour.... ITS GAMEDAY. 8 Hours 9 minutes. 2016 WILL BE GLORIOUS I frickin believe.
Actual full quote wasnt as bad as selected favorites tho she didnt need to mention the part about it being a one sided rivalry.
