How was Wright in this game?

I thought he looked fairly effective. For much of the first half and all of the second half, it looked like we were in more of a 4-5-1 than a 4-3-3 and Wright was the lone striker.

Thanks hoping he can become a top striker in the future and help Canada...

I think he looked out of place as a lone striker.

Good result, onward to the next round.

As a side note, this year's USOC seems to be getting broader visibility than years past. At my appointment yesterday, my doctor who doesn't even follow soccer got a kick out of DC United almost getting upset by a pub team full of average Joes like us.

Heaps has to make awkward positional choices and ill fitting formations for his players, it's written in his contract.

Wright's not ready to be a hold-up striker. If Heaps is going to play him alone up top, this isn't going to work well.

Agree. I sort of view him as a alternative to Femi when you desire more pace.

I did not see a lot of pace from him. He looks to me more like a Wondo type scorer (obviously not to that level). Someone who gets to the right position to score opportune goals.
