Half of you whine about Trapp/Bradley, but in case you guys missed it over the last 5 years, and apparently some did, 3G likes DMs who can pass & distribute. Trapp & Bradley are the best we have at the moment. And I, for one, want Adams & McKennie further up the pitch. But it is early days. 3G is experimenting and getting his first look at the pool. I like Pulisic better wide, but we have virtually no proven CAMs, or wingers, or Fs outside of CP & Jozy. Hard to tell much from last game as Ecuador bunkered. And next fame Adams is gone and McKennie is surely out.
I understand why Ggg plays Trapp. No one knows the system better and a proven locker room uniter. I get that. I think Trapp is limited at the international level but played great against Ecuador. Bradley, on the other hand, is so far past it. He offers nothing going forward and he is stopping a younger player from getting the experience that seems to be so important for US players. Playing Bradley at this point is like betting on Orb to win the Kentucky Derby this year.
Zardes starts tonight. So does Omar Gonzalez and Bradley. Really, I'm not making this up. It's a good night for SmackDown and Kevin Belton.
I give credit to GB for giving actual answers to questions. For now at least it doesn’t seem like he does a lot of “coach speak”
Man that team fell apart once Pulisic went out. Zardes did well to set up his goal, but outside of that was pretty terrible. I've not been all that high on Arriola in the past, but thought he did well. Baird was out of his depth. Horvath's footwork made me realize just how good Steffen is with his. Otherwise Horvath was fine. Thought Trapp did pretty well coming on
Well only caught the second half but what I saw reminded me of when all the USMNT could do was chase the game. Yes it improved some after some tactical and personnel changes but it showed that we still have a long way to go.
That's definately true. Especially once Pulisic went out. That kids not flashy, but he's solid across the board and deceptively quick (both physically and mentally). I'd say Arriola, Pulisic, and Trapp looked good. Bradley and Gonzalez and Horvath (except when playing the ball with his feet) had decent games. Maybe Lewis in limited minutes. Everyone else was terrible.
This says a lot more about me than the program, I suppose, but I honestly barely know the USMNT pool anymore. I used to have a pretty deep knowledge of every player in the pool, which of course was MUCH smaller than it is now. So it was just a helluva lot easier to keep up. But the program also seemed to have a clearer personality (for better or worse, since it wasn't always a functional personality) back in the day, though I'll admit that that is likely just a reflection of me and how I interacted with the team. I don't know how to put it exactly, but the current pool, to me, feels like a bunch of reasonably talented technicians, cogs in a machine, but with very little leadership or definable personality. In a word, the program is often pretty boring to follow. Finally, 15-20 years ago, I could look ahead and assume that, in the next generation, the US would start developing top flight creative and attacking midfielders, strikers, based on the development of MLS and more players being based ion Europe. Well, MLS has developed, and we do now have a ton of players based in Europe. But I don't see any evidence that there's been any real movement in our ability to develop creative, attacking players. It's depressing.
Look at this assist from Tyler Adams!! 1112065521074294785 is not a valid tweet id And GB wants to play him at right back...
Doubleheader on a Saturday. 1st game 5:30 pm—Guyana vs Panama. 2nd game 8pm—USA vs TnT Crew at home to Wizzing Kansas City that Sunday evening.
us-soccer-faces-suit-from-relevent-sports-over-planned-match-in-miami Wasn't sure where to put this. Charlie Stillitano and Relevant sports suing USSF over an Ecuadorian League match planned to be played in Miami.
The first 6 minutes, Jamaica looked absolutely lost. I mean, 7-goals-conceded bad I'm not sure what's been going on since then.
Sure. It's depressing that a win nothing coach, who has in his CV being fired from a Scandinavian team for being too boring was allowed to fail up to a USMNT Head Coaching position. (It pays to have family in high places). But at least as Crew fans we had five years of rationalizing his poor and sleep inducing performances so we can recycle those and/or hold on to a few minutes of "dominance" as proof that "the system" works.
What the ******** are you talking about? I made no comment other than Jamaica looked utterly unprepared to play the first 6 minutes. They made us look like Man City playing Huddersfield. After that, it was just plain poor and unremarkable. What is the matter with you?
You okay, cupcake? You don't approve of my translation from a language that you just made up? What was your point? Did you have one? Operators are standing by. Please call 1-888-Zero-********s.
