His touch is what stood out to me. I know he's no technical wizard but it was very rough last night. He had that one nice layoff for a shot, but that play started with a ball bouncing off his thigh, then chest and then 3 yards away from him. He had a clean left footed shot that hit the keeper and came back to him that he then skied. I'm certainly hopeful that last year was not the anomaly that it appears when looking at his career. We need at the minimum 13 goals from him and that's if we're getting production from our other attackers. If it's all up to him like last year, he needs 20. At worst, he's getting some game time which should help him round in to form more quickly. So there's that.
As conductor of the Gyasi Zardes Hype Train I get alerts whenever a passenger leaves or the virus of bar morale infests our luxury first class cabins. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep after last nights game. But, I still believe in Gyasi and so should you.
On the plus side, a mediocre showing at the USMNT level may let us keep the Hype Train going during those International (but not for MLS) Breaks.
Thats interesting because I'm the D.B. Cooper of the Gyasi Zardes 727 and I just bailed out the back of the plane. Send out all the helicopters, search parties and dogs you want, comb the wilderness for months, you aren't going to find all those goals you thought were in the cargo hold. They're gone. I think the guys value will never be higher than it is today and Bez and Porter are stupid not to peddle his ass to the highest bidder rather than bring him north to CBus and watch his value shrink to nothing by mid summer.
If we traded Gyasi, we'd have to find a replacement in this window. I doubt our staff is up to speed to handle that yet.
Empty seats at Avaya. Good thing that this isn't an MLS game... could be in the bottom three in metrics.
Should have guessed you'd be the one to come up with that first. They sure didn't waste a ton of creative/artistic effort coming up with that, did they?
Credit for them not undertaking the usual total overhaul we're used to. But, in the world of ML$, "Hey! We made one minor change! Buy the new one!" The full commercial is, of course, on Twitter.
Exactly. In our time of need, “we don’t involve ourselves in club matters.” Then, have the gall to use our tifo in our stadium in their ad. F Continental and F American Outlaws. (Do they even have a chapter in Columbus??)
It seems to be on life support, as far as I know. The Nordecke had a supporters meeting at Endeavor starting at 2, but 4th Street is the alleged home of AO Columbus. They have a Facebook page advertising today's watch party at 4th which had six "likes" of names I didn't even recognize. My guess: Digital presence only, minimal presence for games in Columbus. And yes, there are some Crew fans who are still loyal to that frat club. The AO Columbus Twitter page has gone "rogue" and features STC stuff.
Somehow, watching a national team run by the Crew's coaching staff, with the Crew's keeper, and two Crew field players, has me a lot more interested in our national team than I've been in years. Fun game. But the Avaya grounds crew needs to intern at Mapfre.
