Finding good stadium pictures of stadiums used in USL are tough to come by, so I thought I'd throw a thread up for posting pics and info about stadiums used in the league so we can find em and discuss em I guess if we feel the need. Don't forget future USL stadiums (stadia for you anal hoseheads) as well. To start it off... Middlefield Cheese Stadium - Cleveland City Stars USL-1 Blackbaud Stadium - Charleston Battery USL-1 Paetec Park - Rochester Rhinos USL-1
I saw yesterday that Miami FC are playing at Lockhart, are they splitting their matches between Lockhart and FIU?
PGE Park - Portland Timbers USL-1 WakeMed Soccer Park - Carolina Railhawks USL-1 Swangard Stadium - Vancouver Whitecaps USL-1
Estadio Juan Ramon Loubriel - Puerto Rico Islanders USL-1 Shuart Stadium - FC New York USL-1 (tentative?)
UMBC Stadium - Crystal Palace Baltimore USL-2 Maryland Soccerplex - Real Maryland Monarchs USL-2 University of Richmond Stadium - Richmond Kickers USL-2
Another pic of University of Richmond Stadium... Legion Stadium - Wilmington Hammerheads USL-2 (by far the best I've found of the stadium) Chartiers Valley HS Stadium - Pittsburgh Riverhounds USL-2
Ya know... if you take away the gridball lines it's a nice place for USL-1. You gotta take what you can get in this league for sure.
Bermuda National Stadium - Bermuda Hogges USL-2 Town and Country Sports Complex - Cincinnati Kings PDL Ultimate Soccer Arenas - Michigan Bucks PDL
Interesting design for University of Richmond stadium. It's like they built a coliseum on an old track.
Not that I'd know for sure, but it looks more like an old cricket ground to me. Just wait 'til next year. House Park is awesome. There may not be any good pics, but it's nice and cozy.
I've seen pics of House Park. Looks like a nice place... Is it close in? EDIT: Looks like it's almost right downtown. google map http://maps.google.com/maps?q="hous...633,-97.749953&spn=0.002075,0.003455&t=h&z=18
Depends on how you define downtown. Or, more specifically, how long you've been in town. Pretty much everyone that I know, even old-timers, would call it downtown. One of my favorite images was from a Lonestars game back 10 years ago, looking at the Capitol from the booth with rain coming down. The Capitol is just 7 blocks away. We would've been there this year if they hadn't found asbestos while remodeling the locker rooms. And we'll be there next year if we don't average more than 6,000 (House Park's capacity) this year. The only drawback is that it'll be like playing in 1996 San Jose Clash stadium (forgot the name). Pretty soccer won't happen here!
Officially they've stated they'll play at least 5 matches at FIU, 2 of the first 3 at Lockhart, and the remaining schedule will be decided as "community support and venue availability dictates". Lockhart is scheduled for some field renovations in mid summer, so those matches will likely be at FIU(although Tropical Park is still possible for a few games). The idea is to expand the fan base by reaching out to both Miami-Dade and Broward counties, as most fans won't drive more than 20 mins for minor league soccer(Miami-Ft. Lauderdale are about 45 mins to an hour apart, depending on traffic). Lockhart has seen better days, some remnants of the Fusion still remain as sad reminders, and FIU uses FieldTurf, but these are hands-down the top two pro soccer facilities in South Florida, maybe the whole state. So smart move by MFC.
They're doing a Miami FC type outreach. Most of their games at the same stadium they played at last year -- Dragon Stadium in Round Rock. But they'll be playing other games in Bastrop, Waco and San Marcos.
Wow, Timbers U-23 is doing the same but not nearly as far reaching. Three at PGE and one each at Tualatin Hills Parks and Rec Stadium in Beaverton, Tigard H.S. Stadium in Tigard, Kiggins Bowl in Vancouver WA, Lincoln High School in Portland and Lincoln Park in Forest Grove.
