I was getting pretty used to RGVFC, tbh. But at the same time, in saying it, I kept confusing it with UTRGV, the local uni. I like what they have come up with. Eager to see their kit.
I'm really curious about the jerseys too, especially if they are planning on matching colors with the logo. An orange and blue hoop jersey would be pretty tight
I wonder how the players unionizing affects things going forward? Another city to keep an eye on is El Paso. The owners of the triple A baseball team also started FC Juarez a d2 Mexican side this year. Which has already won the championship, and will be promoted next season. They have a stated goal of establishing top flight teams in both El Paso and Juarez. I know that they placed a bid for MLS expansion in the last round of expansions. They will be an active participant in this current round of MLS expansions. I don't look for MLS to expand to El Paso, but it wouldn't surprise me if the USL did. The ownership has already said that they view the USL as a stepping stone to the MLS, and wouldn't mind competing in it until they are granted the MLS team. The fc Juarez crest is sweet looking by the way,
Energy FC has been awarded a PDL franchise http://www.uslpdl.com/common/mobile/mobile.html?jobid=72014&nogames=Y#a903257
According to this interview (h/t to @Sporting Real ), Albuquerque Sol FC of the PDL aim to move up to USL by 2018.
USL is probably the right level for ABQ. Too bad he's trying to prove there is more to New Mexico than Breaking Bad, because this would be the basis for a heck of a crest: Team re-branding contest loaded with Breaking Bad references could include: Albuquerque Blues Crystal Palace ABQ Albuquerque Pinkmen Albuquerque Goodmen Heisenberg FC Seeing as they will probably keep the name, I will just hope for a "Better Call Sol" Saul Goodman themed marketing campaign.
