2) ESPN website will also have a page dedicated to USL news/games. @SiriusXMFC to also have a weekly USL show. I love all of this— Nipun Chopra, PhD (@NipunChopra7) December 8, 2016
Boy, that escalated quickly. I guess they saw the writing on the wall, and realized NASL was probably not going to provide that content next year.
USL did have 20 games on ESPN3 last year and the final on ESPNU. This sounds like it will be more but it is not a completely new thing. http://www.uslsoccer.com/news_article/show/640008-usl-announces-partnership-with-espn
And I was just about to speculate about TV for the league. So for 2016, the TV landscape was (for most of the weeks): MLS, Fridays, one or two matches in Spanish MLS, Sundays, two matches (ESPN2, FS1) NASL, sporadic matches on BeIn, CBS Sports Net; speculation was mostly time-buys NWSL, sporadic matches on FS1 (usually Sundays, after the MLS) I was hoping for some regular broadcast matches for USL, but that would be trying for too much. I was thinking Saturdays pre-college football; Thursdays after CFB starts.
