Game will be on ESPNU and www.espn3.com at 5:30AM EDT

Germany is beating North Korea 2-0 with 5 min left (BTW North Korea had a player red carded in the 55th min so Germany has had a woman advantage for the last 35 min.) so they will move on to take the winner of South Korea and Mexico. I hope South Korea wins (sorry my Mexican friends) as I think they could be more of a hand full for Germany. Columbia upset Sweden in the other Q-final 2-0 so they winner of the USA - Nigeria game will play them.

Excellent finish after unrelenting waves of pressure. The Nigerians are pressing after the US.

Casey Short appears to be a difference maker. Her side is bringing all the pressure.

20' almost had a GK blooper reel with the Super Eagles keeper being featured.

Note to USA: follow up on shots...the Nigerian keeper has not had any clean takes. Jonathan is a rebound machine.

I am starting an over-under sub thread to predict the time at which a Nigerian will earn the first red card.

    I'll start with 62 minute.

Powerful challenge. Is anyone else sick of these foppish Brits announcing the games like they are the 16th tee of St. Andrews?

Wow, LeRoux was lucky she wasn't hurt with the vicious challenge. The defender didn't even try to get that ball.

    Nice defending by Dunn.

    No handball.

Nigeria is making some impressive entry passes in our defensive third.

Is the US not capable of taking far post corner kick? If not you would think we would have near post runner. Don't get me wrong, it's great that we are racking up CKs, but I would like for us to cash in.

physical game this one is, keep it up girls! US needs to clock another ball in and avoid getting injured by Nigeria who are in total tackle mode

This is one of the few times I consider my bouts with insomnia a blessing. I'm DVR'ing the game so I might not be where yall are, but I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. Great hustle and teamwork so far!

Call me a Leroux fan boy, but I really want to see this kid play for the senior nats. I love how she imediately got up and fought to strike a shot on goal when a nigerian defender bulldozered into her near the box. With her work rate and scoring proficiency, I think she'd be a great fit for the seniors. Please Pia, bring her into the squad!

Does anyone remember the beating Abby Wambach and Mia Hamm took in the WWC 2003 by the Nigerians. Better yet, does anyone remember the crushing blow that Abby delivered to stop it in it's tracks?

Hopefully this referee will maintain a better control for this match.

I dont remember much of the 2003 WC. My family couldn't afford cable or internet back then, so I missed out on a lot of stuff. All I remember is how bummed I was when I read we lost to ze germans 3-0, but I did get to see us wallop Canada for 3rd place
