Once again this will not be the team that will participate in world cup qualifiers. The bigger question is will GB select the proper players from our 20s and 17s. This was not in my opinion our Best team. I hope that the marker GB uses is our European players. Pulisic is pure class, he is clearly our best along with Mckinnie. Until the next match will shall see.
I am 100% sure GB will learn nothing and will make no significant changes. Next time out will look just like this time with maybe Morris disappearing. This is the part that scares me the most. GB is sure hes right and will change nothing. We will not qualify, again, with teams like this
No, it’s not ok. Ranting and raving about how everyone sucks except the pets like WM is not analysis. That’s my point. As bad as Bradley was, and he was bad, he didn’t cost us the goal. Weston did. One of the first 10 posts was there’s no positives. Really? How could anyone watch this game and not be happy with the defense?
Who was the main person at fault for the goal? I thought that Steffen had a Tim Howard out-of-position-no-way-I'm-getting-that-ball moment, personally. Otherwise, the goal was the result of a team effort (on both teams' part) and a great lay-off.
Moving forward... A team GK Steffen RB Yedlin CB Brooks CB Long LB Lima DM Adams M8 McKennie 10 Pulisic RW Boyd FW Altidore LW Weah B team GK Horvath RB Cannon CB Miazga CB Zimmerman LB Ream DM Bradley M8 Roldan 10 Pomykal RW Arriola FW Sargent LW Holmes C team: GK Johnson RB Dest CB Carter-Vickers CB M. Robinson LB A. Robinson DM Morales MF Nagbe 10 Lletget RW Morris FW Soto LW Amon Watching: Gloster Richards trusty Araujo Mihailovic Bassett Mendez Lewis Break glass in case of emergency: Lovitz Trapp Baird Zardes
So... just got back from the game. Got drenched in (celebratory) beer.. Seeing what I saw and seeing what people are posting is kind of hilarious. McKennie had a stinker out there. He was sloppy as hell all night and didn't do much on offense. Long was very good and pretty much our best player on the night. Jozy was wasteful, dangerous early, but you HAVE to finish that. Zardes was fine in his limited minutes though I was closer to Steffen in the second half so had to see what was going on in the scrambles in the box. Morris was awful. Cannon was decent but got caught upfield a few too many times. Arriola was what you'd expect. Pulisic could have been better on the night.
Dude, every post of yours I see reminds me that you wrote that Bradley was quickly fired with Egypt, Staebak, and le Havre. That’s a ******** up you can’t recover from, not for a long, long time.
Had Bradley decided to slip into 1st gear like McKennie did on Dos Santos—holy crap this board would have exploded.
I think your almost there on the Pizzaro switch. Except it wasn’t specifically Ream. Pizzaro was occupying that space right where Arriola should have been in defense and ultimately made Bradley have to provide cover out of position.
Mckennie makes a mistakes but he doesn't get abused for entire stretches of a game.Btw, games aren't 45 minutes, Egg got worked in the coaching department.
Except we don’t have the talent to compete with Mexico. Look at the rosters and compare the club teams. Pulisic and McKinney are the only players we have that would make Mexico’s roster.
Nobody is saying that everyone sucks except the “pets” but don’t let that stop you from raging at nothing.
Yeah, it was weird. It's like he got stuck in quicksand and couldn't make a move for the ball. It was the first thing I noticed as the goal was being scored.
When our coach throws away a game because of his pets, that should grab the headlines. And if you think Weston was primarily at fault for the goal, then I standby by my statement that you’re part of the problem. He was cleaning up Bradley’s messes all game long. He had some mistakes, but Bradley was absolutely horrific and got roasted on the goal.
Eh... I'm sure he will have his pets but to say there wont be changes is a bit unfair. Of course you have to think a out guys that were not available due to injury like Adams,Yedlin, Holmes, and Lleget (who had been the guy Greg relied on for offense off the bench his first couple camps). But if guys like Sargent and Weah get consistent time and produce you cant ignore them... same for a guy like Pomykal developing
McKennie casually jogging behind an accelerating Dos Santos was probably the worst. Ream could of put in a tackle on Jimenez.
Disappointing result. In the second half when the US needed to adjust, Berhalter made the wrong choices. You have to be willing to take a risk with a new attacking player (Boyd). You have to make a 2nd striker available on the bench. And when the match is breaking down in the last 15 minutes, sacrifice Ream or Bradley for an attacking player, not field symmetry (Lovitz as the 3rd sub). Berhalter prized the system over the situation.
The result didn't bother me as much as a sold out stadium that was 90% Mexican fans. The program has fallen off the radar and for that I blame US Soccer and our players. Overall the team competed tonight but they've got a long, long way to go. The men's team program has regressed and taken fan interest with it.
From the back: Steffen was okay. He isn't going to do anything spectacular but not bad. Ream, Miazga, Long, Cannon were pretty good. No real problems and Cannon probably attracted attention from Europe. Mike Bradley: disasterously bad. Slow, can't win a tackle, trails the play, always a half step late. He used to be good. Why he continues to play is just a mystery. Arriola-McKinnie-Morris: Meh. Hard working group. Didn't lose the game for us. They have to spend too much time babysitting Mikey. Pulisic: Pure class. He must wonder what fresh hell he is being introduced to. Altidore: Did well at what he does. Subs: Absolute disaster. Lovitz being the firing offense. Coaching: Doesn't appear to be any.
