What's next for USA? They have to defend the lead.

The anti-American reffing is no surprise, but the Mexican bunker and counter. I never thought I would see the day.

The US needs Jones to play more conservatively to cover for the backline.

Bob Bradley might want to stick Edu on at left back or something.

He was still screening the US defender from clearing the ball. That means he was involved in the play and offside. Terrible non call

This is not the classic Mexico possession side of old.

And right when I say it 4-2. Counter attacking and opposing keeper errors. WTF

Congratulations to Mexico. The momentum swung their favor when they scored their first goal after trailing 2-0, and never look back. The aggregated of unanswered four goals.

The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) must restructure the men's coaching staff immediately. This is grossly unacceptable in giving up four goals after leading 2-0. The U.S. non-soccer media certainly would spotlight and crystallize the failing performance.

    What?

Mexico still had the ball for a good chunk of the game.

But not all, especially in the 2nd half until dos Santos' chip.

IMO that was one of the reasons the crowd didn't get into the match as much as I expected - as Mexico smothered the match through counterattacking more than the classic possession of old.

    Congratulations.

It was 54% according to CONCACAF - which is stunningly low in a US-Mexico tie. To compare, I think the 02 WC and 09 Azteca qualifier were both over 70%.

The possession was 59%-41% mid second half. After Mexico got the 4-2 lead, they sat back a bit and played counter, so it went down a bit late.

Look, I'm not a big fan of Bob Bradley, but I think he got the lineup right tonight. The fact is the US isn't very deep (once Dolo went out, we were in trouble), and even before his injury, Mexico was generating a lot of chances.

The fact is Mexico are a better team. They are quicker, faster, technically superior, and have more players playing at higher levels than we do. And some players who have/are played at the very highest level (Marquez, Hernandze) and another who has legit world class talent (Dos Santos). Not to mention Barrera, and Guardado.

Well deserved win for El Tri. Most exciting Gold Cup final I've ever seen. Wish Dempsey's shot had gone in to tie it at 3-3 instead of hitting the post.

I think they'll represent CONCACAF well at Confederations Cup, and I expect they'll make the SF at least.
