Just bought 4, but think I'm in Alto Norte Section ALNT2A. Hoping there's a contingent up there as well. Haha. Have to choose "Otra Pais" and Will call is only option. Can't put in a non-MX address for ticket fast.
So you can retrieve at a Ticketmaster location "24 hours after and 1 day prior to event"? Even if the will call location posted on the prior page says "no vende futbol"? I'm not keen on waiting Azteca will call on game day if I don't have to... What's everybody planning on doing?
My best guess is that you will be able to pick up tickets at those retail locations prior to game day. Ticketmaster customer service should be able to confirm for you. Some locations "no venden futbol" because they don't want long lines of people waiting when futbol tickets go on sale. Mexico has a lower percentage of people with internet access and credit cards than the States so, for some people, the easiest (or only) option to buy advanced tickets is to pay cash at a TM retail outlet.
cool thanks. There's one 5 min from our Airbnb so I'm hoping to get it Friday. Didn't want to carry my passport to the game.
I had to get some local company to buy my Guatemala tickets. The Guate fed simply refused to provide our fed with any tickets to sell.
I'm flying in Saturday and basically just hoping I can get them that day, if not going to Azteca early as ********
That was probably the game I was at too, I remember buying tickets at a gas station when I was in country. Ive only bought tickets through the fed for one away game so this one is par for the course for me
I got 4 in alto sur, going to try to pickup Saturday morning, but when that inevitably doesn't work Ill just head to Azteca early and hang out there drinking, eating street food and having friendly banter with the crowd. Then when the buses arrive ill slip into that crowd to get he police escort into the US section. Heading in with the riot squad is part of the fun.
2012. About a day before the game, USSF got something set up with the Guatemalan Federation for ticket purchases at their office. My Guatemalan friends hooked me up with a ticket with them, and I must admit a little fear sitting in the general section. "Mata El Gringo.." The worst that happened was getting hit with a crumpled up paper Coke cup. I have bought directly from the T&T and Antigua & Barbuda Federations. In 2008, in Port of Spain, we picked up tickets from the combined T&T Federation/Concacaf office decorated with a framed letter of friendship from Sepp Blatter to Jack Warner: "See you in the Big House." For Antigua, the USSSC price seemed high, so I sent an email to the Antigua Federation. I think I corresponded with the Deputy Director and bought a ticket at their office. The only sad part was that, at the gate, the staff person tore the ticket in half and kept both halves. After the match, my favorite part was riding the full public minivan back to downtown St. John's with a group complaining about the late A&B substitution that they blamed for the US winning goal. Everyone was speaking Antiguan Creole, so it was a struggle to keep up.
Now the fun of planning begins! With that being said, for those who are not using AO for match transportation, how are you planning on getting back from Azteca? (Should note, this will be my first time, and I haven't got a clue on how to get back.)
I'm going to wait for USSC, naively loyal. I guess. It's the transport after the game that is most concerning. The AO buses are so perfect, but not at $215/person.
I didn't have much of a plan but riot bus dropped us off at metro stop post game which was fine. I think we'll be okay if we keep a solid group. When it gets closer, we need to organize a metro group. We all met at the AO spot last time but I'm game for whatever. Definitely want to roll with a crew.
Completely forgot about this today. Ended my lunch short ran back to my work computer and got my ticket!!!!! Like many have said hope I can pick it up Saturday at a Ticketmaster store. If not we all need to plan the gringo will call tailgate!
You'll appreciate it once you are on the nice bus heading out of Azteca... but for now that has to burn a bit.
I've recently become a semi-expert on travels to Mexico City and most of important to Estadio Azteca. I recently attended the WC Qualifier vs Costa Rica, attended the Raiders vs Texans game and because you were so nice to post the information on the on-sale, I'm here to answer any questions you have about Mexico City and Estadio Azteca.
not sure if the AO bus will be any better than any other buses leaving Azteca but given the time of the game, it is nice to avoid the metro
Hey Anubis, any reviews on the area around CDMX Hostel Art Gallery? Address is Paseo de la Reforma 169 Colonia Cuauhtemoc. Fairly close to where the American Outlaws are staying.
