LOL. The fact that Jeff Agoos (and I am not picking on him) is tied for 4th most caps ever tells you all you need to know about how bad we have been historically at LB.
Point taken but he was actually a pretty decent LB throughout the 90s. It's a shame that most people's memories of him as an international are from 2002 when he was past his prime for that level. He was on the bubble in 1994 and lost out to David Regis in 98 for starting time (Regis was unquestionably better). He was smart and fairly tough and a great organizer for the Quakes late in his career.

Hmmmm.....no he wasn't. Maybe compared to his USMNT and early MLS comp he was, but on the international football stage? Come on! I remember his entire career. I don't think there is anyone that would put him in the top 5 of American players, yet he got more caps than anyone other than 4 other players in US history. That tells you a lot about how awful our LB pool has been. And why MAYBE we should just go with wingbacks and 3 CBs instead of forcing mediocre players into the LB slot.
