Then you're good! Haha So far that's the only warnings that the cdc and who are giving is for pregnant women and couples.
The real question: do you plan on having sex with a mosquito while in Guatemala? (and you don't have to answer it publicly).
Ok here's the initial details. Personally I'm looking for tickets only, But this is a good deal for those that want it bundled. https://www.theamericanoutlaws.com/articles/aoaway-join-the-american-outlaws-in-guatemala #AOAway - Join the American Outlaws in Guatemala #GuateAnExperience! Westin runs $150 a night so $200 for breakfast, game ticket, airport transfer, game transfer and the souvenirs. Think I paid $10 for breakfast last time, $20 for airport shuttle. $20 to the game, $35 for the ticket. So about $100 there. So extra $100 for the shirt and pin?
We want to encourage people to attend the game and make the trip. Don't be so grouchy and grumpy. It is not a bad deal at all for those that like to go as a group and have this organized for them.
In 2012, I paid $11 or (was it $8?) for my hotel room (sin baño) in Zona 1, a few blocks from the stadium. Walked almost everywhere. Used the BRT combined with about a mile walk to and from the airport--1 Q or about $.12 fare. Unsure if I'm going this time. Guatemala City is a lot nicer than its reputation. Some decent museums. A very good vegetarian restaurant where $5 gets one a feast. Converting Avenida 6 into a pedestrian only way is a big improvement. Friendly people. An extra day or two gives you time for Antigua and Lago Atitlan, both outstanding, although Antigua was a little touristy for my tastes when I visited in 2005.
Not going to be very quite this go around... They are a sight to see but after 2 or 3 a day blocking streets, you get over it very fast!
US Soccer will be selling individual tickets shortly, they will be in the same away section as the AO group. FYI...
Just FYI for everyone, if you buy a ticket and you look like an American (ie not Hispanic/black wearing Guatemala kit), no matter what you are almost certainly going to be ushered into this section.
Funny you should say that, i thought the same in '12 but wasn't the case. We scored comp'd USSF tickets in the "VIP" section, at midfield in covered section. We walked to the away section and they wouldn't let us in, and we had full USA gear on. Had to beg, then yell, then said we were scared for our safety before finally they let us in after 10 minutes of pleading. It was weird.
Hmmm odd. We had the other guys who just bought tickets on the street and just tried to go to their sections. Cops were like yeah no.
I just remember the American soldiers who were in our section that tried to run over to the fence between us and the Guatemala supporters to rile them up. The police were not amused.
Thanks for reaching out. Tickets are not available right now, but hopefully soon. We will reach out to you with instructions on how to purchase when they are available. Regards, U.S. Soccer Ticketing
Anybody heard anything more regarding tickets? Still no link on the US Soccer schedule page (although they now have the kickoff listed - 8pm local time), and that Brian guy listed as the AO contact for their hotel/ticket packages won't return my emails inquiring about tix only.
AO is unlikely to help you if all you want is tickets. I wouldn't worry. These things tend to go last minute
Yup, been to plenty of matches in Latin America and realize the approach to attendance and ticketing is much more laissez-faire. However, this is the first time I've booked a trip abroad exclusively for football, and want to make sure I get a seat in our supporters' section. Hopefully US Soccer sends that eagerly-anticipated email with ticket info before too long...
Don't worry my man. Here's the deal, AO is trying to sell their travel package so silly for them to offer tix only at the same time. However, once the deadline closes (today), expect USSoccer and/or AO to promote the tix only. No way that US Soccer would undermine AO's travel package, there is most definitely some collaboration. Love that you are going, it will be a blast. Expect tix only news in the upcoming few days/week.
Don't worry you'll almost surely end up with the us fans in the pen. I've had us soccer send me away tickets the day I fly out.
I found a relatively less expensive flight, so I booked my travel package. 2 nights hotel @ 100Q/night, about $26 total. Airport transfers=1Q each way, about $.30 total. How does that compare to the AO package?
