That may be a great week to spend at the beach. Women play on Wednesday and Battery play that Friday.

Although not finalized (I think, I'm still learning German), the United States WNT are going to play Germany in October. The best part is they will be playing at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

    Get out a translator:
Das Spiel in Frankfurt soll ein erster Testlauf für die Frauenfußball-Weltmeisterschaft 2011 im eigenen Land sein, im Oktober soll in der Münchener Allianz Arena ein zweiter gegen die USA folgen.

Didn't want to start a new thread but if Munich fills as much as Frankfurt (40,000+ attending the GER-BRA match on Wednesday), the US might have a great time playing at the Allianz.

Nice! I haven't been to a match at Charleston since 2002, IIRC. USWNT killed Mexico in a driving monsoon. Good showing from Sam's Army, inlcuding the BBAF.

It was the WNT debut of the Baby. In fact, it was the original Baby that's now in the Hall of Fame. I delivered it, and Vince Stravino - to my never-ending thanks - took the soaking wet thing back with him.

Oktoberfest 2009 ends on October 4th.

Allianz Arena is fantastic. I made it out to the stadium a couple of times during WC06.

I was thinking of going to the game in October (Oktoberfest would be a great bonus) but I'm saving for WWC 2011. On top of that, I'll be in college and missing classes isn't an option.

It would be amazing going in the stadium for an actual women's match. If the game does get finalized, which I'm pretty sure it will, maybe it'll generate a big enough buzz that FSC or ESPN might broadcast it over here (I'm being very optimistic...chances are it probably won't), unless ZDF (The television company that broadcasts all the German WNT games) refuse to give other companies the rights to the broadcast.

Didn't we (Me and she who shall not be named) take it at some point? Either from NC to SC or from hotel to stadium. I forget. But I remember having to escort it somewhere.
