Now that I think of it, I bet the USMT will mainly train inside the stadium rather than the field directly east of the stadium where the Rapids do. If that were to be the practice field you could just watch through the chain link. With the stadium doors locked it will be hard to see much. Oh well. It looks like T&T is basing themselves in Boulder and training at the CU soccer facility. I'm guessing those 17 guys are all domestic-based and will get a plane ticket home when the other guys show up. http://ttfootball.org/2017/05/22/17...r-to-begin-training-camp-ahead-of-wcq-vs-usa/
What would it take to get closed door scrimmages for the rest of the Rapids' 2018 pre-season schedule?
There's a pop-up U.S. Soccer store on the 16th St. Mall in the corner building at 16th & California right next to the light rail platform. They've got the Navy USA-T&T scarf with the date and the Colorado C on it (which I bought) and will have game-specific hats arriving today. Also a ton of non-game specific U.S. Soccer stuff. 16th Street Mall (662 16th Street) Tuesday, June 6; 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. MT Wednesday, June 7; 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. MT Thursday, June 8; 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. MT
In the "US Soccer match guide", they advise people arrive by 5PM: ---------------------- MATCHDAY SCHEDULE – JUNE 8 9:00 AM – Ticket Office (near Gate F) opens 2:00 PM – Parking Lots open, FanHQ Denver opens 3:30 PM – Gates open (B – G) 5:50 PM – Kickoff Fans are encouraged to arrive no later than 5:00 PM to ensure seeing opening kickoff. ---------------------- Are they expecting heinous security lines?
Given Argus has stepped up security the last couple of games (particularly the KC game) but couldn't figure out how to do it quickly and the recent attacks in England I assume so. I may try to get into the stadium before 5 just to avoid the mess.
Our American Outlaw bus is leaving at 3pm from Boulder - should leave a lot of time. May need to snag one of those scarves from the pop-up shop, or I imagine they'll be selling them at the game?
That was a damn fun game. Nice to hear Williams get good applause (at least from where I was in 109) as well.
2nd best Nats game I've been to (out of 6, so small sample size). Nothing tops the Snow Clasico but last night was a good time.
I think that this game had more people than the Blanco 7/4 game vs Chicago. I was surprised that only 19100 was announced, It was packed.
It was a full house, at 18,000 capacity. Plus they added another 1000 seats with the temporary bleachers. So that sounds about right
FIFA doesn't allow standing room tickets for games, which is why an international will probably never top that 4th of July number (which had ample standing room tickets sold)
Ah, I didn't realize they couldn't sell standing room-only tickets for FIFA matches. That would make it tough to set a record. This article says the Snow bowl was the most attended international, and 2nd highest attendance ever after that 4th of July game. I was wondering about Rapids-Galaxy when Beckham showed up. How far up there were they for best-attended Rapids games?
