If I was Miazga I'd turn down all future callups until post Russia when we have a new manager who values CB's with actual skill.

Just get on a plane back to Europe and concentrate on your club career, young buck.

I wonder who is big/little spoon when Bruce and Zusi cuddle.

Nagbe, Arriola, Altidore and Gonzo... smh.

I am ok with that, as long as they don't win.

And then not a single manager will call him ever again.

I do hope Bruce has a plan to bring in Dempsey for whichever forward is playing the worst around 60 or so. I think there's value in seeing him off the bench that would outweigh any other considerations.

Other than Gonzo, there really aren't better options available for the others. And I could understand if people wanted to argue Gonzo is better than Miazaga too.

A shame Chelsea is giving Miazga the runaround right now - Miazga is probably happy to get a chance to train with some friendly faces.

The pre-game ritual US fan petulant line-up rejection is complete.

Now we can get on with it.

Nagbe rejected a callup and Arena immediately called him in. Howard took a year off, no problems.

In fairness to Arena, we don't know what miazga's club situation is.

you are comparing a 21 year old CB with 3 caps to the US 's best goalie ever?

He is neither Howard, nor even Nagbe. He is a young kid playing at a position full of upcoming talent.

Totally disagree. I thought both had good games, and Nagbe will be back to playing outside.

Nagbe missed multiple passing windows so he could dribble in a circle and pass backward. On one occasion his desire to screw around instead of playing with tempo led to an ES counter that would have resulted in a goal had ES had the desire to score instead of flop around and bite people.

Miazga could be in pre-season, showing how much he's developed since last year, as he looks for a loan partner.

The only way it makes sense to keep him with this squad is to play him. Otherwise, send him back after group stage and bring Spector or Birnbaum for depth rather than Gonzalez.

Yeah, I respect the hell out of Besler but there's no reason both Gonzo and Besler should be playing ahead of Miazga.
