Here are just a few names I can confirm who are slated to be on the roster (pending any last minute club refusals, injuries, full NT conflicts, changes of heart)

    Freese, Marcinkowski, Scott

Herrera, Duncan, CCV, Glad, Richards, McKenzie, A. Robinson, Vines

Dotson, Sands, Mendez, Ledezma, Mihailovic, Aaronson, Cappis

Toye, Ebobisse, Saucedo, Sabbi, Lennon, Lewis

Not shocked by his inclusion in the Olympic age camp, but more than a little part of me hoped that Ledezma would be the U-23 eligible player invited to the USMNT camp (ala Pomykal/Aaronson) this go-round.

I'm a little confused why Scott getting benched at the U20 WC warranted a call up to the U23s. I know the gk pool is very thin but still odd to see.

More likely than not as Uly just got back from an injury and is getting super close to making his first team debut Wolfsburg is going to be likely to not release him. They need to protect their top academy performer. If they released Uly we would also see Michael Edwards on the roster too as he is on a tear for their u23's and is closing in on a first team debut potentially this season when John Brooks gets another long term injury.

It doesn't seem that odd that a guy who was considered one of the top goalkeepers of his age group as recently as this summer, based on his selection to the U20 Finals team, might warrant being the 9th GK called into the U23s, for the first time, five camps in, just a few months later, at a time when the pool is far from set.

Especially when he can get to Spain using inexpensive ground transportation.

MNUFC confirmed the Toye and Dotson callups in a press release just now, though that release doesn't include a full roster.

LOL. You said "slated" in the second post and then "as it stands right now" a few posts later. Why didn't you just say "this is the full, official, 100% definite future roster" if that's what you meant? ;)

Somone could get hurt, etc. Gregg could say something like, I change my mind, I need Robinson or Lewis. Or a club could say, I dont want to relese him.

YNT rosters are always subject to a whole separate level of variables.

But what I posted above was 100% the team - AS OF LAST NIGHT - and I've heard of no changes since.

Because that's not what he meant?

A poster of Brian's stature needs an out, or at least some wiggle room. Note the 'no' in post 6, the "as it stands right now" post, which could mean, "No, I don't know," or "No, he wasn't called up" (which could mean many things, the least likely of which is that no one reached out to Llanez).

Edit: Man, doing this via phone is slow ...

Here I had this crazy notion that when official sources confirm a reporter's scoop publicly, it shows that those reporters are good at their jobs.

You're not crazy. Well, not crazy for that particular notion. That was a pretty odd response to your plain vanilla post, which confirmed not contradicted Brian's information.

Is Gloster injured? Seems to be the most glaring omission if he's healthy.

Not sure. But I think he'd also probably be a backup to Antonee Robinson at this camp - who has far more pro experience and most people would agree is a better option than Gloster at this moment in time (strong emphasis)

Yes you have Vines there too. But I don't think you need to bring Gloster into a camp if he's not going to play much. He's still trying to find his way at a new club.

    Gloster has been hurt.

The wing attackers leave a lot to be desired. Sabbi, Lewis, Lennon? We just saw with the U17s a complete lack of wing threat. He is a U20 player, I guess, but this team could use Llanez. There must be some U23 American that can play on the wing with some speed besides Lennon...

Amon and Taitague never being healthy is killing this team.

FWIW, among a lot of people that I talk to in and around this team, Lewis has been doing very well every time he's been with the U-23s.

Players don't come out of nowhere - Sabbi is in good form and Lewis is the best age-eligible winger in MLS. They are both pretty good prospects for this level. Amon seems to be hurt and/or glued to the bench all year so that explains why he hasn't been called.
