US Nat U-17 dies in car accident

    Defender Gray Griffin killed in car accident this morning. 3 other players from Furman with him, including Josh Villalobos, injured.

    This was first posted in the College board, but thought it belonged here as well.

    Very sad............

    That is very sad. Wasn't he one of the most promising defenders from that team?

    Soccer365com indicates he was struck by an oncoming 18 wheeler after his SUV had flipped. Those darn cars are so unsafe, esp in the hands of a teenager.

    May God rest his soul and comfort his family.

    Kinda of touches home, Josh's dad teaches at the school I student taught at. Nice fella. Very proud of Josh.

    yea, you are correct. he probably would have been the starting left back on the u-20's in charleston wcq'ers next month...
