I heard about these moves. The two I know about. Arias and Salgueiro. They played for my club Peñarol. Arias just played because he is a family member of someone on the board but sucked, and Salgueiro is a goalie who was replaced in the middle of the season by a goalie that ended up single-handedly costing us the championship. That shows how much he sucks. And I expect the level in Rumania to be close to Uruguay's

Diego Ciz signed with romanian club Rapid Bucharest.
Diego Silva scored a goal at his debut with his new club Astra Ploiesti and Marcelo Mendez played in defence 90 min very good. Salgueiros and Arrias was subs.

Can anyone tell me much about Getafe's Juan Albin?

He is being linked with my team Newcastle on a free transfer this summer.

Do you think he has what it takes to cut it in the EPL (faster game, more physical etc)?

“This year is very important to me,” ”I attend to announce what my future is at the end of the season.”

“Like any professional, I don’t reject any offer – and Newcastle are an historical club that will return to the Premier League.”

“But I will keep calm and study them.”

I don't know too much about him. I know that last year, it seemed like every weekend he would score a goal. If it wasn't for the amount of awesome forwards that Uruguay has, he would be on the National Team, but its tough right now.

Right now, he plays in Spain, where the style of game is sloppier than in England, so I don't know how he would translate his game over there. A prime example would be Forlan who "struggled" in Manchester and shines in Spain. Could be due to him being younger back then.

I have not seen Albin play ever so won't give you a false opinion, but from what I heard, he's a really good player.

Good luck Newcastle fan! I've always liked your team

Tabarez give him a go as the article says Silva, Castro, Boghossian, Lopez etc etc, personally i think Silva is better then Fernandes:confused:

    http://www.southamericanfutbol.com/2010/04/uruguay-i-deserve-a-national-team-chance-santiago-silva/

Uruguay: I deserve a national team chance – Santiago Silva

Velez Sarsfield striker Santiago Silva affirmed to the Argentine press that he dreams of participating in the 2010 World Cup with Uruguay, but speaking sincerely, he admitted that he will have to watch the tournament on the television. Silva has maintained his incredible goal-scoring rate since returning to Velez from Banfield, a club who he helped win the Argentine league for the first time in 113 years, by finishing as the league´s highest goal-scorer.

Silva, 29, has scored five goals in the Argentine Clausura championship this season, but has never been called up to the Uruguayan national team by Oscar Tabarez. He explained to Radio La Red that he thinks he deserves an opportunity in Uruguay´s squad.

“I did what I had to do, I think I deserved an opportunity to play for the national team of my country. But now I will continue to play my best for Velez,” Silva confessed.

“I was very excited waiting for a chance that never arrived,” he added.
Throughout the World Cup qualifiers Tabarez´s preferred attacking partnership was that of Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez, while he often called up Edison Cavani, Sebastian Abreu and Sebastian Fernandez as reserves.

Uruguay have a number of strikers vying for a place in the attack like Silva. Others include Joaquin Boghossian, Gonzalo Castro, Rodrigo Lopez, Walter Pandiani and even Antonio Pacheco.

I like Silva, but who do you take out to put him in?

Forlan? Suarez? I would take Abreu out, but we need his height sometimes. I like Cavani too, and maybe that's the spot he'll end up taking.

i would call forlán,suárez, sebastián fernández,s.silva, abel hernández and tony pacheco.
But Tabarez surely won't call silva and pacheco he underestimates the southamerican leagues, even the argentinean. He thinks any player playing in any random european club, might be moldova even,is better than the topscorer of the argentinean league, current champion, and scoring often in the libertadores. I dont care much about the national team really,i know i will be pleased to watch Silva play in Peñarol some day as he already stated a couple of years ago that he wants to play in the club. What makes no sense is that tabárez hates the southamerican leagues but calls abreu,a guy that is playing a regional cup in brazil facing minow clubs of rio de janeiro exclusively, instead of calling a player in the argentine top level. The local tournaments in argentina are not as good as they used to be,in fact they arent doing good at the international cups (see banfield the champion was defeated by naciomal, that lost to cerro and rampla this week),but i still think silva did more merits.Abreu has the only advantage of experience, but that includes having played a shit world cup in 2002.

Yeah, and this past year, a daughter of a Cerro Largo player came out into the field with one of those, probably it was this dude's daughter.
