Just dawned on me this did not exist .... D.C. United vs. Montreal Impact Where: Buzzard Point stadium When: Saturday, 7 p.m. TV: WJLA 24/7 News (formerly NewsChannel 8). Records: D.C. 9-11-8, 35 points; Montreal 12-14-4, 40 points. D.C. probable starters: GK Bill Hamid; Ds Oniel Fisher, Frederic Brillant, Steve Birnbaum, Joseph Mora; MFs Paul Arriola, Junior Moreno, Russell Canouse, Luciano Acosta, Yamil Asad; F Wayne Rooney. Montreal probable starters: GK Evan Bush; Ds Bacary Sagna, Rod Fanni, Rudy Camacho, Daniel Lovitz; MFs Micheal Azira, Samuel Piette, Saphir Taider; Fs Alejandro Silva, Quincy Amarikwa, Ignacio Piatti. "F Wayne Rooney" cracks me up, lot of people have said that over the years and probably many of our opponents do now Most important game since all the important road games we lost Win and we might be in, lose and we're probably not Dude on Roche's podcast says we should start Arriola at right back to try to force Piatti to try to defend (because he can't) with Steiber in front of him.
Who's hurt? Why Brilliant over Opare? (EDIT: Goff tells me Opare is hurt. Dammit. Brilliant has been a real drop down in quality this season.)
"Win and we might be in, lose and we're probably not" Cover ALL the bases FB, what if it ends up a draw?
Such a big game and I believe what will be the best crowd Audi Field has seen so far. I can't make it, but was able to sell my tickets for 2X on the season ticket portal. Looking forward to watching the replay on ESPN+.
Almost nationally in real time, assuming the blackout mumbo-jumbo applies to the local area as defined by ESPN+.
That was Matt Doyle. In big games, moving Arriola to fullback in a 4-2-?-? Maximizes his talents and the team’s ability to cover and defend when he or any other defender makes a run into the attacking third of the field.
Wonder how the acoustics will be? The Elton John concert last week had the most distortion I've witnessed since a presidential debate. It was actually painful on a physical level. Concerts in stadia just don't work like La Scala or Carnegie Hall. When will they try one at Audi?
Sound at RFK was typically pretty muddy...except when Pink Floyd played there. Their sound engineers were f*cking geniuses.
A draw makes it very tough. Montreal would have to falter more than expected to give us a realistic chance to still get in.
Great passing in tight quarters by Asad, and Acosta with a great finish. Glad to get out to an early lead
I'm in Gaithersburg and can watch on ESPN+ using Roku. I was going through live shows and DC United game was all the way at the end and marked as 'blackout'. For some reason I clicked on it and it started playing. I never tried it before so not sure if they lifted the blackout or if it's a glitch.
Well, things kind of sucked after the goal. We have been back on our heels, and the Impact look pretty dangerous and are getting some opportunities that they should have scored on. We really do look limited on offense when Rooney isn't connecting with anyone.
Hey, Rooney connected with the goal, and people Our defense is still a dumpster fire, it could easily be 3-2 or 3-3. And WTF with Fisher, I'm having flashbacks to all of the failures of past DC United medical staffs. If he collapses 20 seconds after running back onto the field, they didn't really check him enough.
