Everyone wants to play Brazil. I think Mexico has played two friendlies in Europe since 2014, both before the World Cup.

It's not, however, even the point I was making. "Everyone wants to play Brazil" is not a reasonable rebuttal. Nor Is "how many games Mexico" or Guyana for that matter, played. It's a BS metric and argument that ignore the point.

And if someone is going to challenge with a BS argument, they should at least be right. lol.

So why is the number of friendlies Brazil has played relevant to the US?

    Exactly.

So 13 for Brazil since 2014 which is the exact same as the USMNT. That was exactly my point.

    Thank you.

He's gotten so much better. If I went back just 2-3 years there was no way I saw him capable of that. Even against T&T.

    You're hysterical over nothing.

You can't find another country that does it more and only one who does it as much (Brazil) as we already do.

That's the point. We do it a lot already and the Nations League is going to make it tougher going forward.

It's a point that completely misses the point. When we are as good as Brazil, perhaps it will be almost a point...

I'm not hysterical at all. Brazil does more, in fact, and is a better team, in fact, with markedly better results. If anything this suggests we should do more than Brazil to, hopefully, be a bit more like them - unless your suggesting that the status quo of the US team is ok by you, in which case, we'll just agree to disagree.

    So, you're wrong, in fact.

But all of that is beside the point. You seems oddly defensive about a fairly mild suggestion.

You are absolutely hysterical about a simple question.

We play in Europe a lot. More than almost every other country in the Western Hemisphere. How has that helped us get better? Maybe it has, maybe it hasn't.

You didn't make a good point about anything. You just want to play more games in Europe.

    Cool, man.

Everything you've said so far about this has missed the point.

Really? This is how you want to spend your Sunday. Ok. I'll type slow:

These are all teams we have lost to or tied in various WCs in this century - all away. The European teams are in bold. See if you see anything in the list...
    South Korea (T)
    Poland (L)
    Germany (L)
    Czech (L)
    Italy (T)

    Ghana (L)
    England (T)
    Slovenia (T)

    Ghana (L)
    Portugal (T)
    Germany (L)
    Belgium (L)

    Notice anything? Cool.

Now, outside of the US where do the majority of our WC roster play?

Good. Now, what other Western Hemisphere program plays more friendlies in Europe than we do?

    Awesome. You're doing great.

Now, perhaps you can imagine why more games in Europe might be a good thing.

I'll give you a second kick at the can. Take it slow. Eye on the label. You can do it.

Wow... what happened to this thread?

Our World Cup record is sad. Let's be honest.

No, because we play more than anybody but Brazil and we're as good as we are right now.

You do snark way better than you do logic.

So, your argument is "we're good enough." Ok. I disagree.

Nor, of course, does arguing "we're good enough, so let's keep it the same."

(Nor you getting caught out on your Brazil facts, but that's a funny for another day.)

So, are we still talking about the game? I had some things to talk about but not sure if I should just leave it alone.

Just put it in the Postgame thread. IMO these PBP's always suck after the game. And they're open for far too long. We've got a thread for postgame musings, we should use it.
