Bradley took some baby steps back toward what he used to be. At least his work rate looked a lot better than it has for the past year or so.
Is he ready to go? Fab to RB, Cameron to CB, Gonzo to bench. Fab and Cameron are my "they need to be on the field, regardless of position" guys.
Never plan to. 22. It worked so well for El Salvador. Good thing they dont have the same families running countries.
You've gotta be shittin' us, Sam. Honduras tried their damndest, and could have (perhaps should have) had 2 goals but were unlucky/Brooks and Howard saved the day. They were simply outplayed all over.
Yet very little if anything came down the US' left side for most of the game. Villafaña and Nagbe had that covered. That seemed to be the gameplan that Bruce drew up and, if so, it worked well.
I have the feeling that you have a tenuous understanding of organized crime. Partly because you use the term "Honduran Mafia" with a straight face.
JK can't alienate the folks who pick GKs for future USMNTs: 6:0! Awesome result and fantastic to see @clint_dempsey being back healthy and scoring again! Way to go!— J_Klinsmann (@J_Klinsmann) March 25, 2017
Jorge looked great out there. Not much came down his side, but when it did he shut them down. Great to have him step up in a time of need.
As annoying as Big Red can be, every now and then he's good for a one-liner. Tonight's was "This felt like a cleansing."
Ha, for a second you thought the USMNT was better than the Chinese Mafia. whatever dorks. Someone got to someone and we look great. Just like Juventus until every 5 years someone mysteriously falls out of a window and they get relegated back to second division. Shame on you Honduras for taking the cash.
It's safe to say he shouldn't be around too much longer, not "won't" be around much longer. Kidding aside, I think Bruce will do the right thing.
Oh, I don't mind admitting that this could've ended up a sloppy 1-0 in the rain, but then again, we haven't seen a US team not managed by Klinsmann in 5 years. Bruce simplified everything, and though we played far from perfectly, we brought back the belief, the fight, the swagger, and stopped playing frickin' scared. What seems painfully obvious tonight is that over the last several years, Klinsmann had over-managed the life out of the side. Bruce started 8 of the same 11 Klinsmann most likely would have (and brought on a 9th before 20 minutes because of injury), but the team played nothing like a Klinsmann side. Simple, direct, fast, aggressive, and our talent disparity was allowed to show.
I will not let them delete this tweet from my feed! Honduras couldn't believe it either @ussoccer @MenInBlazers pic.twitter.com/XH6PprrB0y— Joe G. (@Joe19G27) March 25, 2017
It was like the song of the sirens, and I was almost seduced: "our pool sucks! our system sucks! our coaches suck! we need to copy Europe!" Then Bruce came and woke me up.
