Damn, you act like if Costa Rica was Spain. Come on we could have stopped minute 60', the only way Costa Rica scores is an own goal or made up penalty kick.

Lol, if you think the ball rolls and bounces "as it should" down in Saprissa then you are surely a lost cause.

Real grass? Actually, it's a shame it snowed. That field is incredible.

Exactly my point, he's usually real good but tonight he's just not in it. I always look for his posts on the US forums. I love reading them but they don't seem like him tonight.

You smile, but deep down you know it can happen. We lose, no problems. You lose or tie and you _____________________. You fill in the blank.

Well, its about to be that time of the month for him, and he's just feeling really emotional and sensitive, ya know?

But deep down inside he's a really cool girl. You just have to look past the bad stuff. :)

Guzan was a total beast tonight. I'd give DMB man of the match just because he went above and beyond his expected quality, but if it weren't for our new Brad, we would have been screwed.

Yup. Which we're fine with, the man seems to have ice water in his veins. First start in ages for the USMNT in a crucial game under horrible conditions and he was flawless in everything.

That was an awesome game. Can't remember us ever playing a soccer game in Ice Bowl conditions.

Of course I was on my third beer by the time the match started so that might have something to do with why I loved the playing conditions so much.

Virtually impossible to give player ratings since it pretty much devolved into a rugby scrum but I have to give props to Costa Rica for not taking the easy way out and demanding a replay when they were behind. They thought they could get the goal back and went all out all game. Fortunately we were able to withstand it.

Not really.. Mexico is at another level now. Sure the fans and media will spazz out but what is the worst that can happen; play against Oceania giants New Zeland for that 4th ticket. Mexico already lost to the Ticos, and recently the U.S. The Colosus of Saint Ursula is not what defines el Tri. It is their ability to make it to the World Cup and compete against the top teams at a good level. Once the coffers are filled with enough silverware the WCQ wins/defeats are an after thought.

You are right Mexico will make it to World Cup. Very unlucky not to win the game against Honduras. I was rooting for them. I felt Honduras was chicken sh*t with their un-sportsmanship. Tuesday is going to be a great game, Mexico should win, but that is why we play the game.

USA vs. Costa Rica thread is here. Ninjew and other BSMX posters need to GTFO, unless it's about the US vs. Costa Rica game.

Mexico should have not started this Hex by dicking around. They've dropped four points from games they should have won--giving away points to the teams we're in direct competition with. It's almost like Mexico is playing poorly just to screw the US. :p
